Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing an integrated Communications strategy, including evaluating current practices.
- Determine the appropriate structure, tactics, and processes for the Communications Department that will support Departmental and organizational strategy.
- Conduct research and work sessions with subject matter experts to develop and maintain deep understanding of project mission, program services and relevant State regulatory policies for communication to external audiences.
- Provide senior, strategic communications counsel and support to the senior leadership team in responding to business-critical issues.
- Provide support on messaging needs, presentation development and speaker training for employees who are representing the company externally.
- Proactively plan, develop and create consistent materials for recruiting including social media outreach.
- Provide strategy and direct support to project leadership team and other departments including but not limited to drafting talking points, editing, developing power points, reports.
- Draft sensitive or business critical employee and member emails, memos, talking points and statements.
- Oversight responsibility of mail house subcontractor and contract to ensure compliance and accountability.
- Edit/proofread various departments’ written materials.
- Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement..- Continuously monitor, refine, and optimize workflow and processes to enhance Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of department to ensure compliance to contract requirements and operational goals; oversees all work processes, makes revisions, and develops protocols, as necessary.- Provide direct supervision to team members, including setting goals, monitoring performance, coaching, and evaluating results.- Foster an entrepreneurial work environment by hiring top talent and promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and measurability.- Fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement- Other duties and tasks as required by management.- Define, measure, and monitor departmental performance using KPIs and SLAs.- Maintain primary responsibility for meeting deadlines, providing high quality materials, resolving issues, and achieving end-results that meet the customer demands and expectations. Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.
- 10-12 years of related professional experience required.
- Professional experience in devising, managing, and executing communications and project plans.
- Extensive experience with the concepts and principles of media and communications.
- Outstanding writing and editing skills; full, working knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style writing required.
- Expert use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word; proficient use of Excel required.
- Ability to simplify the complex and strategically tailor communications depending on the audience/stakeholder.
- Proactive self-starter who can manage complex tasks and projects quickly with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
