What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of CCAR to lead the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) program as the bank transitions to a Category IV designation. This individual will play a critical role in establishing governance frameworks, controls, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with industry best practices. The Director of CCAR will collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and regulators to build a robust and sustainable CCAR program.

How You’ll Succeed

Support the CCAR Program Development and Execution

Collaborate closely with the Head of the CCAR Program to design, implement, and execute the bank’s Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) frameworkAssist in the development of stress testing methodologies, scenario design, and capital planning processes to meet regulatory requirementsEnsure the timely and accurate preparation of CCAR submissions, including FR Y-14A, FR Y-14Q, and FR Y-14M reports, in coordination with cross-functional teamsProvide insights and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the CCAR program

Governance and Controls

Support the Head of the CCAR Program in establishing and maintaining a robust governance framework to oversee CCAR-related activitiesImplement and monitor controls to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of CCAR processes and deliverablesAssist in the development and documentation of policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory expectationsPartner with Risk, Finance, and other stakeholders to integrate CCAR requirements into the bank’s broader risk management and operational frameworks

Analytics and Insights

Lead the development and execution of advanced analytics to support CCAR stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital planningAnalyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that impact the bank’s capital adequacy and financial resilienceCollaborate with modeling teams to validate and enhance stress testing models, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and business needsProvide actionable insights to senior leadership and the Head of the CCAR Program to inform strategic decision-makingDevelop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key findings and performance metrics to stakeholders

Regulatory Engagement and Compliance

Work with the Head of the CCAR Program to prepare materials for regulatory reviews, audits, and examinationsSupport responses to regulatory inquiries and ensure alignment with evolving CCAR requirements and expectationsMonitor regulatory developments and provide updates to the Head of the CCAR Program and other stakeholders on emerging trends and changes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as a key liaison between the CCAR team and other departments, including Finance, Risk, Treasury, and IT, to ensure alignment and coordination on CCAR-related activitiesSupport the Head of the CCAR Program in fostering collaboration across teams to ensure the successful execution of the CCAR program

Team Leadership and Development

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members involved in CCAR-related activitiesAssist the Head of the CCAR Program in building a high-performing CCAR team and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Who You Are

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related fieldAdvanced degree (MBA, Master’s, or PhD) or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, CPA) preferred

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services, with a strong focus on CCAR, stress testing, capital planning, or regulatory reportingProven track record of developing and implementing governance frameworks and controls in a banking environmentExperience working with Category IV banks or institutions undergoing regulatory transitions is highly desirable

Skills and Competencies

Deep understanding of CCAR requirements, including stress testing methodologies, capital planning processes, and regulatory reporting (FR Y-14 series)Strong knowledge of U.S. banking regulations, including the Federal Reserve’s capital planning and stress testing guidelinesExceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organizationExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesStrong communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging with regulators and senior executivesProficiency in data analysis tools, financial modeling, and risk management systems

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $200,000- $235,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
