Job Summary
The Director of Business Development is responsible for the sales and related marketing services for Crane’s RF/Microwave Products. This position includes responsibilities for direct and indirect sales representative management, account management, forecasting and execution of new business potential and development and closing of new business opportunities with existing and new customers in the defense marketplace.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient and effective sales focus to meet and exceed assigned goals with current and new accounts. You will be responsible for motivating an outside indirect sales representative sales force in support of the direct sales force. You will emphasize technical and product roadmaps and strategic planning to achieve increased bookings and revenues moving up the supply chain by promoting increased capabilities, and by leveraging teaming and systems opportunities. You will motivate through example to enable the sales team to identify and capture significant and strategic new business.
Essential Functions:
Analyze competitive environments, develop customer strategies, work with peer group to ensure maximum business growth on new and existing platformsDevelop product roadmaps, market analysis and marketing tools, and financial modeling in support of product pricing and business case assessmentWork with various Engineering and Operations teams to develop capture strategies, and manage customer relationshipsLead new proposal development, customer surveys, and market researchDocument and record all proposal activityEstablish, develop, manage, and enhance business relationships with key internal and external customersManage the screening process to demonstrate the viability of all proposed new business and secure all necessary approvalsResponsible for winning new business with both existing and new customers that meet strategic criteriaLead the development of strategies that ensure the solution’s products, technologies and services are appropriately positioned for profitable business growthParticipate in strategic business planning and market planning activities within Crane Aerospace & Electronics to ensure alignment of Solution strategies with company strategies and goalsActively promote company image and positioning strategy within target markets; participate in appropriate regional and national conferences as requiredAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementMinimum Requirements
10+ years in sales and marketing of RF/Microwave products.Demonstrated RF/Microwave product experience.Demonstrated experience interpreting RF/Microwave products for customers.Proven track record in RF/Microwave sales with an in-depth understanding of the defense market.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.Demonstrated multi-tasking and prioritization skills.BSEE, or related technical Bachelor’s degree. Master's preferred. Eligibility Requirement: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Additionally, as a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
