Director of Boiler Operations

Mesa Energy Systems is a HVAC mechanical services company that provides fully integrated solutions for preventative maintenance and repair, upgrading existing mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to provide the most efficient economic solutions to meet customer expectations. **Job Title:** Director of Boiler Operations **Principal Duties and Responsibilities** **Strategic Leadership & Management** + Lead the Boiler Department’s operational and production functions, ensuring alignment with company goals. + Develop and implement departmental strategies, metrics, and processes to improve efficiency and profitability. + Manage departmental budget and financial performance, including revenue forecasting, cost control, and margin improvement. + Analyze financial reports and take corrective actions to meet or exceed P&L targets. + Collaborate with the Management Team to define departmental needs, job roles, and performance objectives. + Maintain and promote Mesa’s culture through daily decision-making and leadership. **Project Oversight & Technical Support** + Oversee quoting, estimating, and project management for boiler services. + Ensure project schedules are maintained, and personnel are appropriately assigned. + Provide technical support to field personnel and sales teams. + Enforce procurement, construction, and commissioning standards. **Sales & Customer Engagement** + Work closely and develop a Sales Team to ensure accurate pricing and proposals. + Meet with customers to provide estimates and manage expectations. + Support account managers in delivering exceptional customer service. **Operational Excellence** + Review and audit labor hours, budgets, and timesheets. + Maintain technician schedules in coordination with dispatchers and project managers. + Assist in developing and implementing procedures for sales estimating, operations, production, safety, and training. + Maintain R stamp certification and ensure compliance with safety standards. **Talent Development** + Recruit, mentor, and train technicians, fitters, boilermakers, sales personnel and future leaders. + Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. **Job Specifications** (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.) + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience. + 10+ years of experience in boiler industry disciplines, including sales, operations, production, and training. + Proven experience managing departmental P&L and driving financial performance. + Deep understanding of boiler systems and control applications. + Strong leadership and communication skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. + Commitment to EMCOR’s safe working practices.
