4 Year Degree Director of Athletics Events and Operations Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Event Manager Job Duties: Directs daily operations of events and reservations for Kress Events Center and Kress Family Outdoor Recreation Complex, including monitoring the budget and/or supervising event planning staff to ensure that operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with department/university goals and policy. This position must work closely within Athletics and University Recreation (UREC) as well as with the UW-Green Bay community in support of the missions of Athletics, UREC and University, while working to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Key Job Responsibilities: Perform Facility Scheduling Management Duties

Manage and update the Events Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and the Events Risk Management Plan

Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders Monitors the budget and approves expenditures Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of events to align with existing strategy Department: Athletics

Compensation: Compensation range of $47,430 - 56,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Sports Management, Event Management, Program Management, Recreation Management, Business Administration or related field at time of application

1-2 Years of demonstrated experience in event management and operations

Supervisory and training experience.

Working knowledge of event and facility space scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience specific to athletic games event management.

Experience working with Enterprise EMS (Event Management Systems) and Social Tables (event diagram software) experience or like scheduling and room diagram software.

Experience with developing facility use agreements or other contracts and invoice statements.

Understanding of and experience with emergency and risk management response in relation to special events and related facilities.

Ability to teach and lead with a philosophy placing a strong emphasis on student development.

CPR/First-Aid/AED Certification.

Conditions of Appointment: This position may require some nights and weekends as needed.

The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel to or work at the Marinette, Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs.

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. A pre-employment education check which includes, but is not limited to, the verification of academic credentials will be conducted on the finalist(s).
