Director of Alternate Channels – Distribution
$128,214 - $166,678 minimum starting pay

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
What You Will Be Doing:
The Director of Alternate Channels - Distribution is responsible for leading growth-focused initiatives across Shelter’s independent agency distribution network by developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing plans that drive revenue, expand market presence, and strengthen brand reputation. This role oversees the identification, onboarding, and relationship management of agency partners while serving as a key liaison between field management and the Home Office. The Director supports and trains field personnel, collaborates cross-functionally with Claims, Underwriting, and Technology departments, and contributes to the strategic expansion of business opportunities through the independent channel. As a subject matter expert, the Director plays a pivotal role in enhancing Shelter’s independent distribution model and advancing the company’s long-term objectives for Alternate Channels.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred.Minimum 7 years in property and casualty insurance, focusing on agency distribution, business development, or field sales.Experience with independent insurance agencies and strong knowledge of their operations and multi-state market dynamics.Proven ability to develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans, analyze performance data, and translate insights into strategy.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with experience training and managing field personal.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.Proficient with CRM systems, agency management platforms, and reporting tools.Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.Shelter's uncompromising commitment to excellence doesn't stop with our customers.
