The Department of Health Informatics is excited to announce an opening for the Director of Advanced Analytics. In this pivotal role, the Director will lead our talented Data Science and Health Informatics teams in crafting and executing innovative advanced analytics resources and products. Efforts of the Director will play a crucial role in enhancing outcomes for Moffitt's research and operations units, making a significant impact on our mission to advance health solutions. Position Highlights:

Lead and provide the design, direction, and build of products/solutions that will drive the analytics strategy to deliver high-quality intelligence that contributes to the prevention and cure of cancer.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

Excellent communication skills and the ability to write and speak about technical concepts to diverse stakeholder groups. Working knowledge of oncology, genomics, data warehouse, programming languages, and ontologies. Proficiency in data governance concepts, practices, and technologies, and ability to translate among languages used by executive, business, and technical stakeholders. Proficiency in project and program management concepts, practices, and technologies. Must enjoy working on deeply technical products with significant scale expectations and a passionate engineering team. Must possess cross-functional capabilities, including influencing, leading, and collaborating on initiatives that traverse multiple functions.

 

Responsibilities:

Partner with Information Technology (IT) to enhance, design, and continue to implement the Moffitt Cancer Analytics Platform (MCAP) architecture that is required to enable advanced analytics and data science across the research, clinical, and operational areas of the organization. Own the advanced analytics workbench, platforms, and products that will drive core business processes and that will be used by analysts and data users across Moffitt. Support and manage the advanced analytics repositories to augment Moffitt's operations and research. Partner with Machine Learning faculty to deploy and manage the Natural Language Processing (NLP) pipeline and Image (radiological images, digital pathology) metadata repositories on MCAP. Maintain current knowledge of the Data Engineering space and partner with the Data Engineering team to leverage emerging architectures and tools that offer and add efficiencies to the advanced analytics solutions. Lead and make day-to-day architectural and technical decisions for Data Science and Health Informatics that have broad-reaching organizational impact. Co-Chair the clinical faculty analytics committee that prioritizes and aligns the development of algorithms and advanced analytics to assist in the improvement of clinical and research outcomes.

 

Credentials and Qualifications:

Required:

Master’s Degree required in Health Informatics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field. Candidate must have 7 years of the following experience: building analytics platforms, tooling, and systems for highly complex analytics domains. databases technologies (Traditional and Cloud-based). 5 years of the following experience: leadership/management, including mentoring and leading lower-level management. building advanced analytical models in the cloud under the constraints of HIPAA. building clinical systems and health records data. overseeing external vendor contracts relating to advanced analytics. experience in Agile project management.

 

Preferred:

3 years healthcare (payer/provider) academic or research organizations. 2 years in healthcare and/or biomedical research setting. 2 years in development using cloud-based services Amazon Web Services (AWS).
