Director International Tax
**Job Overview:** The Director International Tax role requires comprehensive Tax (Fin), management, and business expertise. The Director International Tax leads through subordinate managers of managers, executes functional business plans, and contributes to the development of functional strategy. They direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems that have implications beyond their function. The Director International Tax applies broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance and influence customer relationships. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Provision of tax advice and tax planning + Research and advice on various tax regimes applied in different countries + Provide appropriate tax planning and tax advice through the project life cycle (from bid to execution to exit), including working with local Tax Managers, project teams, and Finance to ensure proper implementation + Assist in the review of contracts, including assistance with contract negotiations + Provide tax advice and assist with planning ideas on the various group companies and branches + Liaise with Tax managers, local and corporate Finance departments, other departments, and external advisers as necessary + Compliance with applicable tax laws + Manage Global Tax compliance engagement working with the service provider and local tax managers to accomplish the timely review and completion of corporate and partnership income tax returns for various companies + Review/assist with corporate income tax correspondence, tax audits, and tax appeals + Manage external financial auditor and coordinate with information requests and resolve issues + Manage sales & use tax function and property tax function + Manage Global Transfer Pricing engagement to assure transfer pricing documentation and compliance + Review/assist with tax procedures and processes + Liaise with Tax, local and corporate Finance departments, external advisors, and tax authorities as necessary + Accurate and fair recording of tax + Review and assist with ASC 740 quarterly tax provisions (US GAAP reporting) where applicable + Review and assist with the timely recording of return-to-provision adjustments + Review and advice on tax reporting procedures and processes + Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures + Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures + Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred, Master's Degree in Tax nice to have + 12+ years of job-related experience + Industry experience in the tax department of a multi-national company in the Review/assistance with ASC 740 quarterly tax provisions (US GAAP reporting) + Experience working on multi-office execution strategies on large EPC projects + Exposure to various country's tax regimes + Able to manage and lead a team of tax professionals with varied tax experience, different cultures, and backgrounds + Able to recognize, analyze, and understand transactions for tax implications + Ability to research, assess, and explain tax concepts and issues, especially to non-tax personnel + Ability to travel overseas for meetings and discussions at various office locations \#LI-CA1 \#LI-DNI Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
