Director - Inside Sales

As the Director – Inside Sales, you will be responsible for leading the Inside Sales Management teams to achieve regional branch goals. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction and drive accountability across the regional Inside Sales staff. You will work collectively with regional branch leaders to drive standardization and identify training opportunities to effectively develop, drive, and improve inside sales metrics. You will partner with the Inside Sales Management teams to define and achieve sales and margin goals while driving Inside Sales Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the region.

Responsibilities:

Leads ISMs and/or CSMs to achieve region sales and margin goals. Serves as coach and mentor it ISR leadership team. Develops, documents, and drives sales related process consistency across the region. Partners with Sales Directors and Managers to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives including new sales initiatives, P3, CRM usage, quote strategy (documentation/consistency), backlog/promise date management, and competitive feedback and action. Partners with Inventory Management, Operations and Sourcing to plan, lead, and ensure execution of key work processes/initiatives including aged inventory & DIO Management, DDP deployment, IMT process, CORA process, Audit compliance, and Open AR resolution.  Drives and continuously improves Inside Sales KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction. Oversees region workload and headcount to effectively plan investment and training needed to proactively grow business. Engages with ISMs to develop internal working relationships and ensure alignment of key strategies and tactics (sales, margin, opex, recruiting, business KPIs, etc.). Spearheads large projects to implement best practices involving assigned region.
 

Qualifications:

High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelors Degree preferred 7 years required of previous inside sales management 5 years of training and developing a sales force 7 years inside sales management with preferred experience in distribution industry preferred 7 years of creating new or significantly advancing sales channels preferred Knowledge of wholesale distribution products and markets is preferred Strong professional sales and consultative skills, ability to motivate, coach and mentor growing regional sales team Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, and sales techniques Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction Knowledge of business and management principles, including resource allocation, leadership and coordination of people and resources Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers Ability to function effectively in cross-functional work environment  Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, math, and persuasion skills Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements Strong background and track record in managing and developing creative sales initiatives Ability to travel 25% - 50%
