Director II - Tactical Solutions & Ground Systems Contracts
**Job Description** **What You ll Do:** + Manage large, high dollar and multi-year classified and unclassified contracting programs for Department of War major systems, services and key subsystems/hardware components to achieve positive return/results. + Lead, motivate, mentor and train multi-functional contracting and acquisition teams to achieve high impact results/outcomes. + Act as primary Contracts Advisor to SMS Tactical Solutions (TS) and Ground Systems and Services (GSS) as the primary contract negotiation review and clearance authority. + Manage key supplier relationships. + Review and prepare Requests for Bid Authority (RBA). + Create, articulate and implement innovative contracting strategies. + Analyze and interpret complex contracting language, terms, and conditions to achieve favorable negotiation outcomes. + Build coalitions with United States Government (USG) customers, BAE program officials and executives. + Synthesize large volumes of complex data and simplify and articulate information to non-contracting professionals. + Responsible for contract policy, procedures, regulatory and quality compliance in the TS/GSS portfolio. + Reconcile internal and external audit results and recommendations across the portfolio. + Serve as point of entry for synergy activities across BAE Systems SMS and ES contracting. + Identify and implement process improvements and remove impediments to the success of the portfolio. + Prepare recruitment plans, retention plans, and succession management. + Conduct Portfolio Training and Development including RBAs, lessons learned, best practices, acquisition reform, and streamlining initiatives. + Identify, advocate and implement electronic business systems, AI and electronic tools. + Lead strategic planning and engagement with USG customers, SCUs, capture management and Govt Relations within the portfolio. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **four days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. **Short-Term Incentive:** Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor s degree in a related field plus 12 or more years related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required. + Expertise in FAR, DFARS, OMB circulars, and other regulations governing contracting, procurement, Other Transactions, and new business constructs. + Experience building high-performing and collaborative teams to delegate to and empower. + Expertise in contract administration and management. + Experience with standardization, streamlining, and innovative contracting techniques. + Expertise in major system acquisition lifecycle and contracting phases to include but not be limited to R&D, production, sustainment, and all types (from Cost Reimbursable to Fixed Price) of contracting methods. + Experience with dispositioning of onerous contract terms and conditions. \#LI-KB1 **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + CPCM (Certified Professional Contracts Manager). + Master's degree in Acquisition and Contract Management. + 7 years of functional (supervisor) leadership experience. + Defense Acquisition University and/or Federal Acquisition Institute Certification in Contracting and/or Program Management. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $157911 - $268449 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
