Director II Deputy Director Aperture & Electronic Technologies
**Job Description** Deputy, Tactical Solutions (TS) and Aperture and Electronic Technologies (AET) Product Line will serve as Deputy to the Senior Director of TS-AET Product Line. This role will focus on resource alignment within the product line and with other TS Business Areas and Space & Mission Systems (SMS) Strategic Capability Units (SCUs), program execution, and technology investment to satisfy the objectives and goals of the operating and strategic plans of AET and BAE Systems, Inc. (the Company). The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to electro-optical technologies, to the warfighter. Our systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threats. **What You ll Do:** + Responsible for aligning the AET Product Areas by direct and frequent collaboration with the AET Product Area Leads, prioritizing capital and operating resources, and creation and tracking of the business operating plan. + Collaborate with TS leadership to oversee AET program execution, including program management reviews, program staffing, Business Area / SCU portfolio reviews; prioritize and drive issues to closure with SCU partners. + Drive consistent and accurately forecasted results cognizant of AET and TS business financials, forecasting, new business, and staffing projections. + Closely collaborates with TS Manufacturing leadership to ensure smooth transition of AET development programs into manufacturing when applicable. + Collaborates with TS Security and TS Operations to ensure a compliant, practical, and risk-managed security model for all AET programs. + Serve as the primary delegate to the Senior Director with acknowledged authority to act on behalf of the Senior Director, including proposal and contract review signature authority. + Responsible for managing the AET Internal Research and Development (IRAD) portfolio, budgets, and reviews in collaboration with TS Life Cycle Strategy (LCS); recommends AET IRAD investment priorities to the Senior Director. + Serve as a key member of the AET Leadership Team; ability to demonstrate a First Team mindset prioritizing support and holding fellow leaders accountable as top priority. + Work with the AET Senior Director to establish and maintain clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations between the AET Product Areas, programs, and the supporting SCU functional organizations. + Participate in the development of strategic planning, analysis, and decision making for expansion and growth of the Company. Recommend objectives and long-range plans to achieve growth and financial profitability of the overall company. + Responsible for setting and maintaining AET-level operating rhythm; examples include coordinating key AET events and meetings such as Integrated Business Plan (IBP) strategic planning, quarterly and monthly reviews, periodic communications, employee engagements, and other events as necessary in alignment with the goals of the AET Senior Director. + Partner with the AET Senior Director, Human Resources, and SCUs in identifying professional development of the AET staff and provide appropriate growth opportunities and mentoring. + Interface and collaborate with TS Operations, Strategy & Capture, Continuous Improvement, and Risk and Opportunity Board with a focus on creating and maintaining a lean and profitable operating environment for programs. Ensure the staffing, tools, processes and capabilities are provided to support execution of the AET portfolio. Ensure the needed capabilities to execute and grow the business are in good health. + Perform individual assignments as directed; and maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. **Short-Term Incentive:** Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS/BA in related field plus 12 years or more related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + A current, active Secret security clearance is required with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI. + A solid understanding of TS and AET mission and operations with relevant industry and government relationships. + Excellent communication skills to support interfaces with all levels of the organization. + Ability to effectively interact with customers and governmental figures at an executive level. \#LI-SMOOT **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + TS/SCI security clearance. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $173023 - $294137 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
