Job Summary Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent Business Services or other assigned administrator, the Directorof Budget and Accounting serves as a department level director and is responsible for the planning, organizing andsupervising of the District’s varied operations and programs related to budgeting, general accounting, accounts payable, position control and purchasing. Performs complex auditing, budgeting, accounting and analysis of budget and financial information and procedures. Assists with the administration of generally accepted accounting principles and practices throughout the District to ensure consistency and accuracy of records.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from an accredited college or university with emphasis in accounting,business administration or related field. Five years increasingly responsible experience in a school district or seven years ina public agency or private organization of similar size and scope to Hayward Unified School District. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid and appropriate California Drivers’ License and a safe driving record. Incumbent will be involved in field work which requires travel in personal vehicle to various sites.
