**Summary:**
The **HCS Dir HR Business Partner – Johnston** serves in a leadership role at UNC Johnston, supporting client groups across two hospitals. The HR Director partners with executives and other leaders in the client organization to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives designed to enhance organization effectiveness.
The HR Director interacts with teammates resolves employee relations issues and manages HR risk and compliance at the local entity-level.
**This role will serve both UNC Health Johnson campuses, located in Smithfield and Clayton.**
**Description of Job Responsibilities:**
1. **HR Strategic Business Partner** - As a strategic partner, the HR Director plays a key role in HR and business operations management at Johnston. The HR Director develops practical solutions that are responsive to the needs, responsibilities and objectives of UNC Johnston and consistent with the HR Strategy of the Health Care System. The HR Director is a business leader that facilitates the development and implementation of better people management and development practices, and shares responsibility for goals and deliverables. Serves as an expert consultant to management on human resources related issues while acting as an employee champion and change agent
2. **Employee Relations** – Ability to partner with designated resources in the coordination of complex Employee Relations matters.
3. **Leading People** - Leads people toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals. Provides an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts. Treats sensitive or confidential information appropriately. Works to improve and reinforce performance of others. Clearly communicates the direction, required performance, and challenges of change to all involved parties. Identifies and enlists the support of key individuals and groups to move the change forward. Obtains and provides resources to implement change initiatives. Serves as a role model within the client organization by demonstrating commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in organizational performance.
5. **Results Driven** - Exceeds departmental and organizational goals and customer expectations. Makes decisions that produce high-quality results by applying knowledge, analyzing problems, and calculating risks. Delivers high-quality services and demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement. Understands the overall financial performance of Johnston and Health Care System and applies financial concepts and practices to establish and maintain realistic budgets. Uses financial information to monitor overall financial status of operations.
**Other Information**
**Education Requirements:**
● Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.
● Seven (7) years of experience in Human Resources, with at least five (5) years experience as a HR Business Partner.
● Five (5) years’ experience in a management role.
**Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:**
● Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
**Professional Experience Requirements:**
● Experience leading change and change management.
