Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Financial Reporting to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and delivering accurate and timely reports. This position offers the opportunity to work within the dynamic insurance industry, driving operational excellence and maintaining adherence to US GAAP standards.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation and review of annual and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Oversee the development of internal and external financial reporting processes, maintaining alignment with organizational goals.
• Manage the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Ensure timely submission of SEC filings and other external financial disclosures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize reporting systems and workflows.
• Provide strategic guidance on financial reporting matters to senior leadership.
• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and implement necessary adjustments to reporting practices.
• Identify and address inefficiencies in financial reporting systems to enhance productivity.
• Support audits and reviews by providing accurate and comprehensive financial documentation.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing financial reporting team to achieve organizational objectives. Requirements • Proven experience in financial reporting within the insurance or financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and financial disclosures.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor teams effectively.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, such as BlackLine.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
