Director Finance Business Partner, Rosewood Ranfaru
Job Description YOUR TEAM As part of the Resort Finance Business Support team, which focuses on ensuring the financial integrity, profitability, and strategic fiscal health of the property, this role contributes to the achievement of key performance goals and long-term value creation. You will report directly to the Managing Director, collaborating closely with resort department heads, property ownership, and the corporate finance team. The team is currently working on driving operational efficiency, optimizing cash flow, and integrating strategic financial planning into all aspects of the resort operation.
YOUR ROLE This role is the strategic financial leader for the resort, pivotal to our overall success by ensuring a controlled, profitable, and sustainable business model. You will lead the development and execution of the resort's financial strategy, including the annual Business Plan and CAPEX planning, directly impacting our ability to invest in our product and our people. Your leadership will improve operations by implementing robust financial controls, provide critical insights to drive innovation in revenue generation and cost management, and ultimately achieve our core business objectives of maximizing profit and owner returns.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE Provide strategic financial leadership and analysis, acting as a key business partner to the Managing Director and ownership to identify profitable opportunities and create competitive advantage. Develop, manage, and report on the resort’s annual Business Plan, budget, and forecast, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and ownership expectations.  Lead the CAPEX planning process, managing the resort’s capital expenditure budget to ensure the optimal use of owner funds and the long-term integrity of the assets.  Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and procurement, ensuring full compliance with corporate policies, local laws, and regulations. Oversee the Finance and Purchasing departments on site and remotely, conduct regular visits to the resort to collaborate with the Managing Director to ensure the finance success and standards are upheld Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure operational sufficiency, maximizing liquidity through effective control of credit, collections, and inventory levels. Implement and maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard resort assets, improve operations, and mitigate financial risk. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture through engagement, recognition, and continuous learning. Collaborate with department heads to review operational performance, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to enhance profitability and efficiency. Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA, CMA, or equivalent advanced certification is highly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a Director of Finance or similar leadership role within a luxury resort environment.  Proven expertise in resort-specific accounting systems (e.g., Opera, Micros, Hyperion, Sun Systems) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.  Exceptional strategic thinking and business acumen, with a demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, formulate strategy, and drive tangible financial results. Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to inspire, develop, and empower a team to achieve excellence. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate financial concepts clearly and persuasively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of local financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements for the hospitality industry.
