Director Finance
Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance to lead and oversee financial operations, human resources, risk management, and governance functions for our organization based in Roxbury, Massachusetts. This role requires a strategic thinker and strong leader who can ensure the financial health of the organization while managing compliance and operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial processes and human resource strategies, along with the ability to mitigate risks and support organizational growth. This role is hybrid 3 days onsite and is paying from $85 - 107K. For consideration please message me on LinkedIn or email me at john.holtman@roberthalf Responsibilities: • Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals and maintain fiduciary responsibility. • Maintain accurate and transparent financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and procedures. • Lead the preparation and approval process for annual budgets, collaborating with the Board and senior leadership. • Manage audits and ensure all financial records are reviewed regularly in accordance with legal requirements. • Oversee vendor and third-party partner relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and high-quality financial services. • Review and update employment policies and procedures in collaboration with leadership. • Oversee employee onboarding, payroll systems, and initiatives focused on staff development to support retention. • Identify and mitigate organizational risks by assessing operations, facilities, partnerships, and insurance coverage. • Ensure timely preparation and submission of all financial, legal, and tax filings required by state and federal authorities. • Provide regular reports to the Board and Finance Committee, keeping them informed of financial and operational updates. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management or a related field. • Proficiency in month-end close processes, including journal entries and financial reporting. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Proven ability to lead and manage budgets, audits, and compliance processes. • Familiarity with risk management practices and insurance coverage assessments. • Experience within the Not-For-Profit Industry • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or certification preferred.
