What You’ll Be Doing
The Director/Executive Director for US Delta One trading operates under the guidance of the business leader, significantly impacts the firm’s bottom line (i.e., trading revenue, deal flow, managing capital, client impact, risk responsibility, business budget, external profile, etc.) and contributes to firm-wide priorities and business line initiatives.
How You’ll Succeed
Structuring creative solutions to clients financing / market access needs using delta-one product suite.Daily management of derivatives products including life cycle, management of the market, set-ups etc.Trading on the Delta One swap desk for trading GC swap and Index productsCreating, designing, and delivering new derivatives products.Implement and improve the market models.Interact on a daily basis with other internal teams such as support, technology, sales etc.Structuring creative solutions to clients financing / market access needs using delta-one product suite, both Listed and OTCGeneration of trade ideas, flow color and other market commentary for Sales and client use.Executing hedges to delta-one derivative trades in the cash, options, and futures markets.Working with partners in Compliance, Tax, Legal, Credit and Risk to control and manage business risks.Working with support partners in Middle Office, Documentation, Client Service and Electronic Trading to ensure a seamless client experience on each trade.Who You Are
Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets, specifically, Equity Derivatives functions and products.A strong academic background in Finance/Economics.10 plus years of relevant financial industry experience in a similar position ( Delta One, Listed Derivatives, Total Return Swaps, Index trading )Extensive knowledge and experience in Equity Derivative products.Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, able to present complex material in a simple manner.Ability to work as part of a team with other traders and salespeople.The ability to make quick decisions under pressure.Detailed working knowledge of the industry and market to assess impact of market conditions.Significant presentation/interactive skills sufficient to clearly articulate complex conceptual information/ideas on issues involving extensive interpretation and opinion.Strong quantitative skills.Strong programming and application skills: C++, VBA, Shell scripts, Excel, Access.Strong analytic and problem solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills, results oriented and a team playerStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesNegotiating and influencing skills to shape decision-making processes at senior levels and resolve situations where compromise solutions are often negotiated.Creativity skills sufficient to resolve complex problems and/or identify innovative alternatives or opportunities.Comprehensive understanding of elements of profitability, risk and cost control.Knowledge of business/finance typically acquired through University business degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience and relevant post-graduate education as specified by US-FIC.Unquestioned professionalism, ethics and reputation and proven ability to exercise strong independent judgment when making business decisions and/or representing CIBC World Markets.Strategic thinking capability with ability to identify and exploit trends and opportunities.Values matter to you. At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of (Director - $200,000) ,(Executive Director - $250,000) for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
