**Job Summary and Responsibilities** The incumbent collaborates with the senior leadership team to plan implement and evaluate strategies for the Emergency and Trauma service line to achieve system quality, financial, safety and engagement objectives. The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and maintaining initiatives within the nursing areas in Common Spirit. Provides leadership and oversight in the development of functions in direct support for the delivery of health services in an integrated fashion. Demonstration of leading with the mission, vision and values of CommonSpirit. + Annually reviews and revises the department's scope of care, supports shared governance, and collaborates with the vice president patient care services to serve the community. + Establish and maintain strong relationships with the CommonSpirit Medical Staff, other leaders, as well as external partners like EMS and police.Leads and participates in quality improvement activities using data and evidence-based practice, implements and monitors clinical nursing standards, and ensures adherence to safety, security, and infection control policies. + Acknowledges the value of multicultural traditions and demonstrates this when caring for clients and staff.Accountable for defining care requirements, maintaining appropriate staffing levels based on acuity and productivity data, and ensuring optimal resource utilization. This includes developing and managing capital and operational budgets and involving staff/providers in finance decisions when appropriate.Fosters a positive work environment, ensures staff accountability, and optimizes staff potential to maintain an acceptable turnover rate. + Provide ongoing direction, guidance, performance assessments, competency validation, and appropriately delegating and supervising the provision of care. **Job Requirements** **Required:** + Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Master's must be obtained within 2 yrs. + Minimum 5 yrs ER work experience and at least 2 yrs of leadership exp. + NE RN license + Basic Life Support **Where You'll Work** At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care.
