Director – Donor Communications and Annual Fund

The Director – Donor Communications and Annual Fund drives the strategic vision, execution, and evolution of all communications for IU Health Foundation, while leading the Annual Fund program to grow donor engagement and philanthropic impact. This director shapes and delivers compelling, emotionally resonant stories that translate complex healthcare initiatives into accessible narratives across digital, visual, and written platforms. This leader oversees a multidisciplinary creative team to ensure cohesive, high-quality content aligned with the Foundation’s mission. The director collaborates with fundraising, system, and hospital teams to maintain brand consistency and amplify donor outreach. This leader sets and manages the annual communications calendar to align with fundraising campaigns, events, and system initiatives and leads the strategy and performance of the Annual Fund, cultivating broad-based donor support and deepening engagement across IU Health communities.

Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.Working knowledge of fundraising software i.e. Raiser's Edge. Experience with matrix organizations and complex work environments.Experience working in a donor database or CRM system preferred.A successful experience working in a metrics-based, complex work environment preferred.Excellent communication, organizational and data-interpretation skills and thrive in problem-solving and critical thinking preferred.Proven experience in strategic communications, preferably in healthcare or nonprofit sectors.Demonstrated success in leading annual fund programs or donor engagement initiatives.Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing abilities.Indiana University Health is unlike any other healthcare system and we're looking for team members who share the things that matter most to us.
