Job Summary

This role oversees a team that implements scalable production data pipelines, and web scale data products and APIs. This position will also play a key role in the design and implementation of new (or updates to existing) platforms to drive and realize WBA data strategy.

Job ResponsibilitiesDirects the design and development of complex software that processes, stores and serves data for use by othersDirects the design and delivery of complex and large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data to generate insights and addresses reporting needsWrites complex ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processingEnsures that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable and secure. Improves data consistency and integrityDirects the integration of data from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards. Designs data infrastructure for scalability, availability, reliabilityParticipates in developing technical / business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.Recommends the right tool and technology to deliver solutions objectively. Evaluates new technologies for continuous improvementInteracts with internal and external peers and management to share highly complex information related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology / business solutionsCreate technical design documents and supporting materialsProvides thought leadership to embrace modern data science and data analytics as a critical enabler for business decisionsGuides and mentors a wide range of audiencesImplements policies and defines approach to strategy achievement for specified area of responsibility. Analyzes long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and decisionsManages budgets, operational plans and performance requirements for the specified area of responsibility. Responsible for meeting budgetary goals and objectives.Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within and outside of the organization. Shares highly complex information related to areas of expertise. Interacts with senior management to keep abreast of objectives. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes and programs. Builds and enhances key internal and external contacts.

The actual salary an employee can expect to receive, plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable, will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
