This role oversees a team that implements scalable production data pipelines, and web scale data products and APIs. This position will also play a key role in the design and implementation of new (or updates to existing) platforms to drive and realize WBA data strategy.
Job ResponsibilitiesDirects the design and development of complex software that processes, stores and serves data for use by othersDirects the design and delivery of complex and large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data to generate insights and addresses reporting needsWrites complex ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processingEnsures that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable and secure. Improves data consistency and integrityDirects the integration of data from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards. Designs data infrastructure for scalability, availability, reliabilityParticipates in developing technical / business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.Recommends the right tool and technology to deliver solutions objectively. Evaluates new technologies for continuous improvementInteracts with internal and external peers and management to share highly complex information related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology / business solutionsCreate technical design documents and supporting materialsProvides thought leadership to embrace modern data science and data analytics as a critical enabler for business decisionsGuides and mentors a wide range of audiencesImplements policies and defines approach to strategy achievement for specified area of responsibility.
