Director Contracts Management

A Day In the Life:


The Director of Contracts Management is responsible for the oversight of Hertz Procurement contracting function, including the management of the overall process, policies, templates and the ongoing negotiation of contracts, including Master Agreements, Statement of Works, N/As etc. This is a critical leadership role with responsibility for leading and developing a team of Contract Managers. This role requires regular interaction with senior stakeholders, particularly those in Legal and Compliance.

The minimum salary is $115K; commensurate with experience.


What You'll Do: 

Maintain procurement contracting policies and procedures Build and maintain a library of contract templates across all spend categories  Establish guardrails for minimum acceptable contract  Build and manage a team of Contract Managers who are responsible for drafting, negotiating, redlining Hertz’s Procurement contracts Maintain contracting processes and identify and implement process improvements as appropriate to drive higher efficiency and quality into operations Establish and manage operational KPIs Serve as an escalation point for issues arising during negotiations offering solutions, providing support and participating in live negotiations as needed  Maintain key relations and serve as the central point of contact for internal stakeholders, including legal and compliance, to ensure contracts enable business and suppliers to meet company’s risk profile and regulatory requirements Create a training and development program for Contract Managers and general Hertz associates leveraging Procurement’s contracting services Lead key deals as appropriate and as bandwidth permits

What We’re Looking For:

15 or more years of related experience, including 10 years in a leadership role. Experience negotiating and overseeing highly complex legal and business terms and conditions Preferred JD or similar advanced education Advanced knowledge and understanding of the contract types.  Advance knowledge of contracting process and the ability to lead on-going process improvements and rollout efforts to institutionalize process improvements. Advanced proficiency in contract management concepts, tools, techniques, and risk management. Strong negotiation skills.  Comprehensive knowledge of legal principles behind high-risk terms and a high degree of knowledge on laws and regulations applicable to contracts  Ability to develop and maintain strong working partnerships with risk partners and internal stakeholders. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with stakeholders including senior leadership
