Position Description
The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving strategic growth initiatives within our Products Pipelines Business Unit on the Camino Real Gathering System, Double Eagle Pipeline and the Kinder Morgan Crude and Condensate (KMCC) in the Eagle Ford, providing transport to the Corpus Christi, TX and Houston TX markets. This role focuses on identifying new crude oil business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, expanding market share in upstream and midstream oil services, overseeing new well connects, and working across Kinder Morgan business units to also support gas services. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, strong commercial acumen, and a proven track record in business development within the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the South Texas region. Find, negotiate, close, and oversee new well connects for our crude oil gathering system.Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including operators, service companies, and regulatory bodies.Sales Strategy: Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with corporate goals.Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for service agreements, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.Competitive Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to inform business decisions.Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring satisfaction and long-term retention.Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams to deliver integrated solutions.Reporting: Provide regular updates to executive leadership on pipeline development, revenue forecasts, and strategic initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)10+ years of experience in oil & gas business development, with a focus on upstream/midstream operationsStrong understanding of South Texas geology, infrastructure, and market dynamicsProven ability to close complex deals and manage high-value client relationshipsExcellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skillsWillingness to travel frequently within the South Texas region
Preferred Skills:
