Director Business Consulting (DBC) - Capital Markets
Position Description:

As a core leader of the Business & Strategic IT Consulting practice, you will be an internal and external expert related to driving growth through people leadership and superior client experience. We help our clients at various stages of their transformation journeys, so this role will have the opportunity to both help shape strategic goals and overcome various operational challenges during implementation. This includes supporting executive leaders through mobilization planning and roadmaps, assessing transformation maturity, and leading implementation engagements to overcome cultural and organizational barriers.

The Business & Strategic IT Consulting practice partners with clients to help them realize their full potential by unleashing the power of people and technology. For organizations with aspirations to increase value or need strategic advisory on reshaping their existing strategic and operational goals, our Business Consulting services will connect business, operations and technology departments and contribute toward accelerating their transformation journey.

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Client Relationship & BD
• Drive revenue growth by leading proposals, pursuing new client opportunities, and expanding the service offering within the risk and compliance market.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of new services and solutions in response to Financial Services market needs, advancing client initiatives and driving incremental revenue and margin for CGI
• Protect and enhance CGI's reputation by building strong, trusted client relationships; supervising outstanding delivery in challenging projects; and proactively identifying opportunities and solutions to meet our clients’ needs
• Lead consultative sales, proposals and negotiation; Engage and advise executives
Operations Management
• Help to identify and develop new business consulting services and methods
• Oversees engagement, delivery quality, and timely deliverables; lead challenging projects
• Supports risk mitigation

Team and Member Management
• Act as an exemplar for management consulting, including coaching, mentoring, and developing others’ skills
• Active in recruiting, talent retention and support team members’ career progression
• Assures compliance to CGI Management foundation in regard to development and mentoring talent via performance management, coaching and career development
• Building & Cultivating Culture: Fostering a, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
Branded Expertise
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders (C-suite, business / technology / operations leaders), providing strategic guidance on risk management, regulatory change, and compliance frameworks.
• Lead the design and delivery of innovative risk and compliance solutions for capital markets clients, delivering high-impact outcomes across complex regulatory environments.
• Shape client strategy and lead large-scale regulatory and risk programmes, advising on target operating models, governance structures, and regulatory transformation.
• Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing consulting teams; develop market-relevant offerings and contribute to business growth through thought leadership and long-term client relationships.
• Maintain a strong profile within the financial services industry, recognised for advanced consulting capability and driving the development of new offerings and capabilities.
• Monitor, interpret, and respond to regulatory change (e.g. OSFI, FRB/SEC, Basel, FINTRAC/FinCEN), ensuring client compliance frameworks remain robust and future-ready.
• Demonstrate mastery of CGI’s business, methodologies, and tools, applying strong consultative behaviours to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 7-10 years of previous business consulting, agency, or other professional services experience, ideally supporting the financial services industry
• 3-5 years of people leadership and PNL growth in business consulting services
• Deep experience in large scale project/program management and leading transformation and modernization projects
• Ability to apply structured consulting methodologies and tools to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused engagements.
• Strong knowledge of global and regional regulatory frameworks (e.g. OSFI, FRB/SEC, Basel, FINTRAC/FinCEN) and their application within capital markets environments.
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience contributing to business development, account growth, and market offering development.
• Extensive experience in management consulting and/or financial services, with deep expertise in capital markets, risk management, regulatory change, and compliance.
• Excellent presentation and writing skills, with ability to tell a meaningful story
• Enthusiasm for problem solving, innovation, and human-centered design

Required Level of Education (include certifications):

• Degree or equivalent professional experience

Preferred qualifications to be successful in this role:
• MBA (Finance, Strategy, or General Management)
• Master’s in Finance / Financial Economics / Accounting / Financial Engineering
• Professional certifications like CFA or FRM

**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $145,000–$195,000. This role is an existing vacancy.**
