Major League Baseball is looking for a passionate YouTube expert to lead our rapidly expanding YouTube original content operation. As our Director, YouTube Original Programming, you will oversee creative direction for all original content series on the platform.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience and a proven track record of growing brands and channels in the YouTube space. You will work with a cross-functional team of strategists, editors, and platform specialists to create content that helps new audiences fall in love with baseball and gives fans more reasons to cheer and engage.
Responsibilities
Set the overall creative direction for original content series Bring a deep expertise in YouTube-specific content creation, algorithms, and analytics, and use that expertise to shape and evolve our creative process Partner with a team of editors to develop new content series and refine existing series Develop creative best practices that sets a creative standard for the platform - editing style, cadence, filming style, music etc. Be obsessive with performance and optimization, with an emphasis on iterative improvements from one video to the next When appropriate, serve as an on-channel host to provide a consistent voice and give the channel a personality Partner with Social Production, Influencer, and MLB Network teams to bring additional creative firepower to the channelsQualifications & Skills
10+ years experience in video and content production 10+ years experience of managing creative teams 5+ years experience making sports and/ or entertainment content Ability to submit a portfolio that demonstrates outstanding quality of past work Working knowledge of the technical aspects of the video production process including shooting, lighting, sound, and editing Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud – especially Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop A perspective on what makes baseball special Experience producing Spanish language content is a plusSalary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
