Role Summary
The Director, Workplace Services Strategy & Planning (PL) reports to the Managing Director & Head of Workplace Services and supports strategic direction and execution across six complementary businesses in Workplace Services. This role serves as a strategic partner and advisor to the leaadership team and Head of WS, helping us make major decisions on our direction, facilitating the translation of that into resource allocation, leading select initiatives requiring steering and coordination across severalg groups and supporting effective internal and external communication on our strategy.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership, analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead strategy projects to determine our direction, integrating industry perspectives, Schwab’s capabilities, and various expert’s viewsDevelop resource allocation frameworks to align our expenses and headcount to our strategy, in close collaboration with Finance and HRSummarize and draw insights from our business performance for leadership, executive management and reporting purposes, in collaboration with Insights and Data teamsMonitor and synthesize how we are tracking on prioritized strategic initiatives, by engaging with leadership and establishing quantitative measures, and build a perspective on opportunities to accelerateLead execution of select strategic initiatives requiring involvement of multiple WS and Schwab leadersDevelop impactful narratives articulating vision, strategy, and impact to serve as input to internal and external communicationsCollaborate with partners to build understanding and alignment on our overarching WS strategy, key planning processes, and our prioritiesLead for WS corporate planning processes required of all businesses, in partnership with our Digital technology portfolio teamsSupport effective leadership team and partner meetings, including setting and facilitating agendasLead an engaged team in supporting the firm’s retention, acquisition, and growth effortsWhat you haveRequired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree10+ years of experience in Strategy, Business Planning, or Enterprise Initiatives in environments of similar scale and complexity.Strong business acumen with sound, values‑aligned decision‑makingExcellent communication and executive presentation skillsAbility to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environmentProven ability to build relationships and engage colleagues across all levelsPurpose‑driven leader with confidence and sound judgmentExceptional leadership skills with a history of successfully developing, mentoring and motivating teams to achieve strategic objectivesCore Skills for SuccessDeep understanding of industry dynamics and emerging strategic trendsAbility to independently structure complex problems and lead analytical frameworksStrong facilitation skills with experience guiding problem‑solving sessions with senior leadersProactive in identifying issues, shaping strategic direction, and driving execution in a matrixed organizationPreferred QualificationsMBA preferredWorkplace or Financial Services Experience
