Director, Workplace Practices & Global HR Projects, Asia-Pac
**What you will be doing:** + Working with the global Workplace Practices team and HR leaders, leads the development of the Workplace Practices strategy and delivery model for Asia Pacific. + Works with local HR, legal and external counsel to ensure compliance with employment and work regulations across Asia Pacific. + Leads and fosters a highly trusted customer-facing center of expertise (COE) for Workplace Practices in Asia Pacific by leading and developing a team of respected experts who are business knowledgeable, proactive, responsive and client-focused and who can influence business and HR leaders in the region + Leads and maintains knowledge in the regional team to ensure they are experts (i) who are knowledgeable regarding employment laws and regulations, Stryker policies and procedures, and industry or business trends; and (ii) who communicate and train leaders, managers and employees regarding the impact of laws, policies and procedures. Areas of focus will include, among other things, HR Policies and employment practices; compensation and pay equity; leaves and absences; severance and termination; reductions in force and restructuring; M&A integrations; employee agreements, background checks and standards; harassment and anti-discrimination; employee handbooks; drug/alcohol use; conflicts of interest; and audits; employee relations and investigations and labor relations. + In partnership with the WP Policies, Practices and Risk team, leads the development and implementation of HR policies and standards for the region. Works with key stakeholders on development of global policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment and work regulations + Provide counsel and advice to HR professionals, leaders and managers regarding HR policies, employee relations, and other matters related to workplace practices or HR compliance + Leads employee relations and work environment investigations in partnership with local HR + Provides counsel, coaching and recommendations to local HR on employee relations matters + Leads the development standard processes, materials for RIFs and severance strategies in compliance with legal regulations and requirements for country and regional restructures. + Coaches and supports local HR through restructuring activities ensuring process and legal compliance + In partnership with the global and regional HR teams, manages HR acquisition integration activities to ensure compliance with local HR legislation and Stryker best practice + Proactively analyze metrics and trends to identify risks and knowledge or capability gaps and develop plans to mitigate risks. + Responsible for reporting investigation trends and highlighting emerging topics to local HR leaders and the APAC leadership team. + Develop and implements materials for RIFs and severance strategies in compliance with legal regulations and requirements. + Responsible for the development of employee relations and behavioural training programs to ensure local HR, managers and employees receive appropriate training and communications on relevant topics. + Responsible for identifying needs and opportunities to train key stakeholders on local and regional HR policies and standards + Leads Stryker’s compliance efforts with respect to data privacy associated with employee data in the region. + Develops, maintains and fosters collaborative partnerships with business-based HR, COEs, compliance, legal and teams. + Responsible for the coaching, development, performance management and engagement of team. **Who are we looking for:** + Bachelor’s degree from accredited university required. + Degree in Business, Human Resources, legal or related field is preferred. + Minimum of 12 – 15 years professional experience required. + 10+ years significant HR or employment law experience in region. + Multi-country HR experience strongly preferred. + Global leadership and/or US multinational experience preferred. + Experience in development of policies, training materials and employment communication preferred. + Proven experience in developing trusted relationships with the business. + Demonstrated excellence in customer relations and building strong and influential relationships at all levels within an organization; problem solving and proactive service orientation. + Excellent analytical skills and the ability to package information in clear, concise executive level ready format. + Proven ability to drive programs, lead people through change and meet deliverables in a complex environment. + Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. + Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a rapidly changing regulatory and business environment. + Demonstrated ability to work on highly confidential matters and to maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality as to those matters. + Language – must be fluent in English.
