Director, Technician Growth & Retention
The Director, Technician Growth & Retention designs and implements technical school recruiting and retention strategies, builds pipeline for current and future Rush Enterprises technicians and beyond. Key responsibilities include monitoring recruitment procedures with technical schools and colleges; from sourcing, managing expectations of recruiters, to identifying high-potential tech school candidates. As a main project manager for the Rush Tech Skills Rodeo, this role will be tasked with overall planning to ensure a successful Rush Tech Skills Rodeo annually. Responsibilities + Oversees all stages of tech school candidate experience; this will include applications, interviews, and communications. + Participates in and host tech school recruitment events to drive awareness of our company while developing a network of potential future hires e.g., past applicants and referred candidates. + Works with Service Operations to forecast hiring needs based on business growth plans. + Manages external partnerships with tech schools and colleges, job boards and HR software vendors. + Prepares and reviews the annual tech school recruitment budget regarding tuition payment and reimbursement, where applicable. + Directs the project management of the Rush Tech Skills Rodeo including coordination across multiple departments and vendors to establish collaborative and strong relationships with operational leaders. + Reports OEM training compliance and drives dealership compliance. + Expand headcounts for all parts and service dealership positions and maximizes retention. Education and/or Experience + Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. + Minimum 5 years' experience with dealership operations. + Minimum 5 years' experience in technical/vocational school recruiting. Other Skills and Abilities Required + Ability to travel 15% - 20% of the time. + Ability to utilize commercial air travel and pass travel screening regulated by the TSA. + Must possess a current and valid driver license. + Must be insurable by the company's insurance carrier. + Ability to foster teamwork. + Decision-making skills. + Leadership skills. + Oral and written communication skills. + Conceptual thinking skills. + Detail oriented. + Ability to meet deadlines.
