Position SummaryThe Director Clinical Affairs reports to the VP. Clinical Affairs and is responsible for managing and overseeing all Clinical Affairs Operations activities and programs, resource identification and allocation for the designated business unit. As part of the leadership team, we will identify, outline, and oversee the development and delivery of franchise education and procedural training to internal and external customers, to maximize clinical outcomes for patients. The Director will oversee the strategic alignment, support global initiatives, team deliverables and budget.
Teleflex People Managers use Leadership, Clinical Acumen and Business Acumen to lead and develop their Clinical Medical Affairs team to consistently deliver high value results and capability. They must be well planned and organized situational leaders and decision makers who use data, compassion, and accountability to develop a culture of teamwork and results.
• Oversee execution of clinical education program planning and execution in North America, focused on the safe and effective use of Teleflex’s focus medical devices from the designated Business Unit.
• Clinical content creation, competency validation and management
• Clinical workshops
• Live cases and bedside support
• Product In-services/implementation and support for sales cycle adoption
• Lead and develop a high-performing team by defining department and team goals, hiring, team development, mentoring and performance management. Develops individual and organizational capabilities to build bench strength while delivering results now and into the future
• Develops strategic plan.
• Identifies, executes, and delivers CMA tactics on time and budget.
• Monitor, maintains and reports monthly CMA activities.
• Identify, hire, develop and talent to support gaps when needed.
• Collaborates with Clinical Evidence Generation in the development of evidence generation plans and publication plans for the SBU NA products.
• Engage in MARCOM/Agile to ensure efficiencies.
• Manage Off-label support for Teleflex products in accordance with Teleflex policy & local legal regulations.
• Oversee Clinical Affairs team for all HCP interactions in accordance with the HCP Engagement Policy
• Contractor management in the provision of educational programs
• SME/KOL engagements
• FMV review & legal agreements in collaboration with CMA Coordinator and HCP policy
• In collaboration with the Commercial Leadership the Director, responsible for the alignment of the CMA Operating Plan with the BU objectives and ensure tactical implementation.

• Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex Medical’s Code of Conduct, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Responsibilities may occasionally extend outside specified region including international locations.
• Bachelor’s Degree required, with a focus in life science or a similar field. Masters preferred.
• Current or previous professional medical licensure, such as RN/BSN, RCIS, RT, required.
• Clinical proficiency in clinical training and experience with at least one of the Teleflex product lines is strongly required.
• Possess a minimum of eight years’ experience in the medical device field; and/or clinical practice, experience required.
• Minimum of three years of people management experience, including people development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to troubleshoot medical device applications in a cardiology clinical setting are necessary.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills are required, with an aptitude for motivating clinicians and providing clinical support to all Teleflex employees.
• Must have the capability for strategic planning to reach the company’s long-term goals.
• Ability to interpret clinical evidence and articulate/incorporate findings as they relate to product/procedural education.
• Established track record of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
• Excel at building strong relationships both internally and in a heavily matrixed environment, and externally across diverse partnerships
• Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Must have strong negotiation, presentation, and skills of persuasion.
• Ability to define problems, collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Professional work ethic and ability to operate independently.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $192,000 - $210,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
