Director, Supplier Engagement Assurance

Job Summary

Directs the identification and measurement of organizational, physical and financial risk; implements programs and business processes to minimize risk. Manages activities through senior managers and managers and implements corporate and divisional strategic plans and budgets.

Job Description

What will you do?

Leads a dynamic team of supplier risk management professionals focused on delivering exceptional client service through the management of Technology & Operations led supplier engagements (Tiers 1, 2, 3, 4)  across multiple LOBs and geographical regions.Creates strategic direction and thought leadership for the discipline of supplier risk management across T&O to improve the risk posture of T&O and RBC by mitigating risks, governing engagements and driving efficiency and effectiveness of the processes.The Director is responsible for building and championing partnerships with executives\\senior management across T&O, Third Party Risk Management team, IT risk and other operational risk teams, platform\\function Supplier Management Offices (SMO), RBC Procurement, Global Supplier Relationship Managers (GSM), Risk Centers of Governance and other Centers of Excellence and suppliers as required.Advocate on behalf of Technology & Operations to influence and improve the automation, discipline, frameworks, policies and implementation of supplier risk management across T&O.Act as a senior leader within the T&O Supplier Management Office (SMO) and execute responsibilities within the SMO Senior Leadership TeamDevelop strategic direction for T&O supplier risk management at the engagement level (risk management, due diligence, implementation of new regulatory standards and procedures, governance practices and automation) for process, tools and peopleLead and manage T&O Supplier Management Services including oversight and education for engagement owners, risk leads and senior management across T&O.Serve as the escalation point for all supplier engagement risk activities led by the T&O Supplier Management OfficeDirect the execution of risk & Governance processes aligned with the third party risk policies and standards

Must-have

15+ years’ experience in senior management, risk management, due diligence activities, risk mitigation and reporting to senior executives8 years of proven Supplier risk management experience (risk assessment, management, due-diligence and remediation activities)Strong business and financial acumen plus operational mindsetDemonstrated ability to build sustainable, transparent relationships / partnershipsExperience leading the implementation of complex enterprise-wide initiatives, projects/programs with multiple interfaces and internal\\external stakeholders with competing objectivesTalent management process (recruitment/selection, performance management, performance development/coaching, reward/recognitionPeople management experience

Nice to Have

8 years in the financial services or other regulated industries5+ years’ experience in proactively monitoring and oversight of third party engagements
