We work together to drive ambition for every future! **Purpose** Leads and oversees the Strategy, Business Management, Real Estate and Project mandate and teams supporting the Dallas office expansion. The role provides strategic support to the Regional Head to execute the department’s mandate by ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. **What You'll Do** + **Strategy & Execution Lead to the Regional Head, Dallas:** + Works with the Regional Head to develop and implement the U.S. Hub supporting Global Banking and Markets (GBM) and Corporate Functions + Advises the U.S. Regional Head on organization, business, and program management issues, identifying and managing key objectives, dependencies, and risks. + Supports the U.S. Regional Head on timely delivery of confidential and / or time sensitive issues as required. + Drives the design and implementation of strategic projects and ensures alignment among key stakeholders, recommending and executing mitigating approaches as appropriate including cross-functional and regulatory initiatives and when stand-alone written products to be sponsored, led and / authored by Regional Head + **Business Management:** + Oversees operational aspects of all required activities for the department including budgeting / headcount planning / resourcing, business continuity plans, seating arrangements, etc. + Assists with talent management including performance management, job evaluations, etc. + Provides strategic leadership on people engagement initiatives including various activities that are led by volunteers (e.g., community service event) or the Strategic Initiatives team (e.g., Peer Advisor Program, townhalls, year-end event, Best of the Best recognitions). + **Governance & Reporting:** + Oversees monthly / quarterly / ad-hoc risk reporting for various management and board level committees and regulatory bodies to ensure adequate reporting quality standards and timely execution. + Ensures timely escalation of issues to the U.S. Regional Head and senior management as appropriate. + **Stakeholder Engagement:** + Act as intermediary between regional offices and corporate management. + Effectively communicate site progress, achievements, and challenges to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders + Collaborate with global and regional executive leadership to align hub site capabilities with their strategic objectives and operational needs. Ensure activities align with overall enterprise business strategies. + Develop relationships with regulatory agencies, community organizations, and clients. + Report risks, opportunities, and relevant insights to senior stakeholders + Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. + Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. + Creates an environment in which his / her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML / ATF / sanctions and conduct risk. + Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison / values / business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team. **What You’ll Bring** + Minimum 15 years of financial services industry experience either in front office or second line of defense function, preferably at global top tier banks. + Strong knowledge of wholesale banking environment in North America including industry standards and regulatory / supervisory expectation. + A university degree in business / finance or related field. Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, JD). Proven leadership skills including people management experience of teams. + Impactful communicator who communicates clearly and effectively both verbal and written with all levels including junior staffs, senior management, and regulators. + Excellent organizational and administrative skills to coordinate multiple competing priorities and escalated as appropriate in a timely manner. + Strong analytical, organization and project management skills. + Proficiency in MSOffice Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI).
