Director, Strategic Sales

The Director, Strategic Sales is responsible for a specific division/business unit’s contract and pricing strategy. They are a strong liaison between the business and Customer Solutions and have a deep understanding not only of products but also the business strategy. They drive strong collaboration and communication to ensure the division/business unit (BU) strategy is well represented and carried out within Customer Solutions. This role is part of the Strategic Sales function within Customer Solutions and reports to the Sr. Director, Strategic Sales for their specific portfolio of products.
Partners closely with Contract Solutions and National Accounts teams to execute Stryker’s Supply Chain negotiations within our National/GPO, Government, and IDN/Hospital systems nationwide based on the specified contracting and pricing strategies per (BU) and strategic sales parameters. This leadership role is closely aligned to the division/BU sales leadership team and builds and maintains effective long-term relationships and a high level of satisfaction with key senior-level decision makers and influencers. This is a management position that contributes and achieves results through others.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Main point of contact for division/BU for strategic sales initiatives, programs, and product expertise.
+ Gathers market data and provides industry analysis as necessary.
+ Continuously assesses relevant markets to identify business opportunities as well as appropriate products and services.
+ Develops and implements summary and exception reports to validate program performance, presents results of programs to BU leadership.
+ Partners with marketing to identify and develop custom solutions for key accounts and ensure alignment and synchronicity in executing the marketing strategy.
+ Work cross functionally with their BU, team, and finance and marketing partners to establish acceptable pricing parameters for capital equipment, warranty, and base products (consumables/implants).
+ Creates demand for the organization’s products and services by raising our profile with customers. Achieves revenue targets by increasing revenue spend per account. May conduct regular status and strategy meetings with the customer’s senior management to understand needs and link them to the organization’s product/service strategies.
+ Partners closely with Area Sales Directors, Regional Managers, and the salesforce to execute a coordinated strategy. Serves as the primary contact for assigned accounts with members of national and corporate accounts teams.
+ Works with shared services and internal departments including marketing, sales operations, and Enterprise Account Management to develop and enhance national and regional sales strategy.
+ Identifies and assesses business opportunities to drive program and account performance.
+ Identifies, develops, and maintains effective internal and external business relationships; ensure key contacts are maintained throughout the sales process and post-sale activities.
+ Continuously assesses relevant markets to identify business opportunities, as well as appropriate products and services.
Education & Special Trainings
+ Bachelor’s degree required.
+ MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
+ 10+ years related sales, marketing, or related experience required.
+ 10+ years of industry experience preferred.
+ Demonstrated prior performance in people leadership preferred.
+ Upper-level administrative and supply chain relationships and prior experience with complex customers, including regional collaboratives and specific IDN’s, preferred.
+ Proven ability to develop strategies that complement and contribute to overall business objectives.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop both internal and external long-term clinical and business relationships.
+ Excellent communication, presentation creation, and delivery skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills inclusive of the ability to work with diverse groups.
+ Proven ability to generate and explain detailed forecasts, guidelines, and procedures and execute on strategy.
+ Experience in a Neurotech business unit preferred
+ ET and/or Spine experience preferred
Physical Requirements
+ Medium work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20poundsofforce constantly tomoveobjectsCoordinationofeye, handand footmovement withanabilitytograsp byhand and meet cognitive demands to include visual and auditory discrimination / memory, reading ability and memory retention ability.
