Director, Strategic Accounts Strategy & Execution

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Director, Strategic Accounts Strategy & Execution is responsible for developing and executing the Strategic Accounts operating model and establishing standardized deal review and contract management processes. The role provides oversight of complex commercial arrangements and supports consistent decision-making, execution, and performance across strategic account relationships. This role reports to the Vice President, Commercial Excellence.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strategic leadership for the development and execution of the Strategic Accounts operating model, ensuring alignment with strategic commercial priorities and long-term growth objectives.  Connect Strategic Account team to sales initiatives (NPIs, conversions, wallet share), price consistency and contract excellence.Define and implement a standardized deal strategy framework to support complex commercial arrangements across key account segments, including large distributors, group purchasing organizations, integrated delivery networks, and hospital systems.Lead strategy to execution motions for the Strategic Accounts team in STRAP planning process.  This may include targeting and coverage model assessments.  Design and govern end-to-end deal processes, including contract management, implementation, mutual account planning processes and ongoing execution oversight.Establish performance metrics, governance, and review mechanisms to monitor contract execution, compliance, and financial and operational outcomes.Develop best-in-class account planning process for Strategic AccountsDefine and govern the deal review and approval process, ensuring clear decision-making authority, accountability, and consistency across strategic account segments.Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution throughout the deal lifecycle.Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership by providing insights, recommendations, and decision support related to account strategy, deal structure, and execution effectiveness.Provide ongoing leadership for operations, with responsibility for team performance, service quality, and cross-team collaboration.Ensure that budgets and schedules are within company requirements with significant organizational responsibility for the overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priority management, and recommendation and implementation changes of current methods.Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.Ensure all employees within the assigned team(s) understand and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations; establishing and maintaining effective internal systems and controls to promote compliance.Provide leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.Assist with various projects as assigned.Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION

May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of U.S. Commercial staff.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS

10+ years of progressive experience in commercial, strategic accounts, contracting, or related business functions within a complex, regulated environment.5+ years of experience as a Director or in a senior managerial role with responsibility for leading cross-functional initiatives, governance processes, or complex commercial programs.Demonstrated experience developing and executing account strategy and deal governance frameworks supporting large, complex customer relationships.Experience designing or overseeing deal review, approval, and contract management processes, including financial, operational, and risk considerations.Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams and influence outcomes in a matrixed environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across commercial, finance, legal, and operational teams using diplomacy and tact.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience presenting recommendations and insights to senior leadership.

The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate’s work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.
