OverviewThe Director, Space and Occupancy is responsible for leading the execution, consistency, and performance of the Space and Occupancy program across the portfolio. This role ensures delivery of accurate space data, efficient occupancy planning, and scalable processes that support business needs.
While client relationship ownership sits outside of this role, the Lead partners closely with client stakeholders to translate strategic direction into executable plans. The primary focus is on program leadership, operational excellence, and driving consistency across regions, sites, and teams.
This role provides oversight of Space and Occupancy resources.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Execution
Lead the end-to-end execution of the Space and Occupancy program across the portfolio
Translate client space strategies and policies into clear, executable plans
Ensure consistency in delivery across sites, regions, and teams
Drive alignment between space planning, occupancy management, and broader workplace initiatives
Space Planning & Occupancy Oversight
Oversee block planning, seat allocation, and neighborhood strategies across locations
Ensure alignment with workplace standards, hybrid policies, and business requirements
Provide oversight on capacity planning, vacancy management, and utilization optimization
Support scenario planning and portfolio-level space decision making
Move Management (MAC) Oversight
Establish and oversee standardized processes for moves, adds, and changes
Ensure efficient and consistent move execution across sites
Monitor move volume, trends, and performance against service levels
Partner with Facilities, IT, and Project Management teams to ensure integrated delivery
Data Governance & Systems
Own data integrity across space and occupancy platforms (e.g., Serraview or equivalent)
Establish governance standards for data accuracy, audits, and system alignment
Ensure integration and consistency across systems (badging, HR, ticketing, etc.)
Drive continuous improvement in tools, reporting, and data processes
Reporting & Analytics
Oversee development and delivery of portfolio-wide occupancy and utilization reporting
Provide insights to support strategic decision making and space optimization
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the portfolio
Support KPI development and performance tracking
Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement
Define and implement standardized processes and best practices
Drive operational efficiency and scalability across the program
Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and improved service delivery
Ensure alignment with client standards and organizational goals
Team Leadership
Provide leadership and direction to Space and Occupancy Team Members and support staff
Set priorities, define goals, and ensure accountability across the team
Support team development, coaching, and performance management
Build a high-performing, execution-focused team culture

Qualifications
7+ years of experience in space planning, occupancy management, or corporate real estate
Experience leading space and occupancy programs at a portfolio level
Strong experience with space management tools (e.g., Serraview, Archibus, or similar)
Proven ability to drive process standardization and operational consistency
Strong analytical and data management capabilities
Experience leading teams and cross-functional initiatives

This role will support Sony Global Operations (AMER, EMEA, and APAC).

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
