The Ethical Sourcing & Excellence team within Global Supply Chain is dedicated to building sourcing capabilities to support a resilient, efficient, value-generating global supply chain that enables the enterprise to deliver on our Back to Starbucks strategy and our responsible sourcing and sustainability goals. This role will contribute to Starbucks success by being the lynchpin between our direct and indirect sourcing teams and driving end-to-end Global Supply Chain integration.
The director, Sourcing Strategy, Operations, & Risk will lead a team designed to build capabilities in strategic sourcing and category management, governance, business continuity and resiliency, supplier engagement, and learning and development.
As director, Sourcing Strategy, Operations, & Risk, you will...
1) Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategy and governance frameworks aligned to business unit priorities
2) Balance the need to deliver on both short-term enterprise savings targets and long-term value creation
3) Establish the structure, process, roles, and cadences needed to effectively manage sourcing-related financial, operational, and brand risks, escalation protocols, and cross-functional workflows across Planning, Sourcing, QA, and Product teams
4) Accelerate and oversee supplier segmentation, onboarding, and relationship management needs
5) Lead sourcing capability-building via training, tools, and frameworks that support category teams in driving supplier performance, assessing resiliency, and creating strategic value
6) Maintain an agile, engaged culture within team, all while challenging and inspiring individuals and teams to raise the bar and deliver on the art of the possible
7) Develop annual operating plan and budget, and quarterly forecast updates

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
