Director, Social & Community

We’re looking for a highly talented, results-oriented Director, Social & Community to join our Brand & Communications team. Reporting directly to the VP, Communications, this role will lead Affirm’s social presence into its next chapter — shaping how we show up in culture, building engaged communities, and making our story resonate with the audiences that matter most. This is a big and important role.

What You’ll Do

Own the strategy. Develop and execute Affirm’s social media strategy — from audience insight to platform mix, content approach, and measurement — ensuring every initiative drives cultural relevance and business impact.

Build the engine. Stand up a proactive content program that amplifies Affirm’s narratives, spotlights earned media, and engages our community with humanity and creativity.

Make lasting connections. Foster dialogue, respond in real time, and ensure our voice stays timely, direct, and culturally relevant.

Push creative boundaries. Identify trends, test emerging formats, and champion new ways to show up across platforms.

Integrate across teams. Partner closely with Communications, Brand, and Partner Marketing to bring social-first thinking into every campaign and moment.

Continuously optimize. Use insights to refine content, grow reach and engagement, and deepen meaningful connections with our audience.

 

What We Look For

15+ years in communications or brand roles, and 10+ years leading social and community strategy at digital-first companies or bringing social-first strategies to life in high-growth environments.

Deep expertise in platform best practices (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, X, LinkedIn, etc.) and social listening/analytics tools.

A track record of creating culturally relevant content and campaigns that grow engaged, loyal communities.

An instinct for storytelling — with a strong creative point of view that cuts through noise and sparks participation.

Ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on execution in fast-moving environments.

A collaborative, influential partner that people love working with.

A data-driven approach with a passion for testing, learning, and improving.
 

Base Pay Grade - S
Equity Grade - 13

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $245,000 - $325,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $217,000 - $297,000
