Role Summary Rivian is looking to hire a Director to lead our Service Finance team. As a Finance Director, you'll partner closely with the Service leadership team as they build out and operate a service network currently at 75+ service centers and 600+ mobile service vehicles, and growing. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring Rivian continues to offer convenient and comprehensive service to its customers while also delivering on Rivian’s financial goals. A successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, deep knowledge of finance and accounting, and an ability to operate in a complex, fast-changing environment. This role can be located in Palo Alto or Irvine, CA or Plymouth, MI. Responsibilities Be a key strategic partner for our Service leadership team, working closely with the Vice President of Service and other senior leaders to develop strategic and financial plans for the business Own the Service P&L, top-to-bottom: ensure accurate and timely P&L development and distribution; make key decisions around allocations and rates; lead P&L analysis and insight gathering; set P&L goals; work with Service team to deliver on P&L goals Own the full Service financial forecast – revenue, cost of goods sold, operating expenses, and capital expenditure Partner with the Service team on development of the short and long term Service Center build plan; keep the plan within budget; develop business plans to support build plan decision-making Lead all management financial reporting related to Service; serve as the internal expert on all financial matters related to Service, helping to guide the VP of Commercial Finance, VP of Service, CFO, and CEO on Financial decisions pertaining to Service Lead a team of Finance Managers, Senior Analysts, and Analysts; manage the team agenda; set team goals; develop the careers of team members; participate in driving overall performance and culture of the Commercial Finance team Qualifications Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Operations, Strategy, and or Analytics; ideally in automotive and/or a Service environment; ideally in large complex organizations Experience leading and managing high-performing teams Excellent inter-personal, communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively articulate financial stories in a clear and concise manner, written and verbally Experience working closely with VP-level executives Experience owning, creating, managing, and reporting on a P&L Experience building financial forecasts for large, complex businesses Solid understanding of Accounting principles; Accounting training or work experience is a plus Ability to get deep into the details of a spreadsheet … and then synthesize and derive insights for an executive audience Agility and adaptability in a fast-paced, ever-changing and ambiguous environment with imperfect data Strong Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides skills; experience using Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) software, e.g. Oracle EPM, Anaplan, Adaptive Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $225,000 - $280,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
