The Role
The Director, Revenue Ramp Strategy & Performance Optimization is responsible for shaping, leading, and executing the revenue strategy for all pre-opening and transitioning hotels within the ASPAC region.
The role also leads revenue-focused performance optimization efforts for challenged assets—including “watch list” hotels with pending performance test hurdles, hotels under owner pressure, and properties missing key revenue and market share KPIs.
You will leverage Hyatt’s unified commercial ramp framework—integrating revenue, sales, and marketing—to ensure each hotel launches with the optimal pricing, segmentation, forecasting, inventory management, distribution, and channel strategy for its market.
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of ASPAC’s diverse regional dynamics, cultural nuances, source market behavior patterns, and owner expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
Revenue Leadership & Regional Strategy Execution
· Localize and execute Hyatt’s global commercial ramp strategy with a focus on revenue readiness, demand forecasting, market pricing, channel strategy, and segmentation optimization for new openings and conversions.
· Ensure revenue strategies reflect regional nuances, including local demand behavior, seasonality patterns, source market drivers, competitive sets, and cultural dynamics.
· Prioritize hotels based on commercial risk, opening timelines, brand impact, and owner expectations.
· Serve as the senior regional revenue lead for all ramp and revenue-related performance activity, ensuring revenue teams are aligned, resourced, and fully prepared prior to launch.
Stakeholder & Owner Engagement
· Act as a senior revenue strategy advisor to owners, operators, GMs, and Directors of Revenue throughout the pre-opening, ramp, and stabilization periods.
· Partner with RMCC Commercial Services leadership, Sales, Digital, and O&C to create integrated commercial strategies.
· Establish and align revenue readiness milestones—including pricing recommendations, demand calendars, forecast build, inventory strategy, and channel setup—to broader ramp project plans.
· Influence owner expectations regarding pricing strategy, market positioning, performance outlook, and revenue accountability.
Performance Optimization, Insights & Continuous Improvement
· Lead data-driven diagnostics to identify performance gaps in RGI, RevPAR, segmentation mix, pricing strategy, channel contribution, competitive performance, and distribution health.
· Partner with Ramp Insights & Reporting teams to analyze revenue KPIs including forecast accuracy, pickup pacing, displacement analysis, group vs. transient mix, channel profitability, and pricing competitiveness.
· Develop and deliver tailored “revenue glide paths to success” with tactical and strategic actions for under-performing assets.
· Track and measure impact of revenue interventions, adjusting the strategy as needed to drive sustained improvement.
· Share learnings across global and regional commercial teams to elevate future openings and revenue practices.
Travel
· Up to 30-35%, depending on hotel openings, market needs, and owner meetings.
**Qualifications:**
· 8–10 years of progressive hotel revenue management or commercial strategy leadership, across multiple ASPAC markets.
· Experience leading revenue strategy for new hotel openings, conversions, or large commercial transitions.
· Proven track record of improving hotel performance through pricing strategy, forecasting, distribution optimization, and segmentation strategy.
· Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, source market behavior, and culturally nuanced commercial environments.
· Proficiency with revenue management systems, forecasting tools, distribution platforms, and relevant analytical dashboards.
· Strong stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and owners.
· Data-informed decision-maker with strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and execution capability.
· Exceptional communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
· Bachelor’s degree in Revenue Management, Business, Hospitality, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
· English fluency required; Mandarin strongly preferred; additional Asian languages a plus.
The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
