To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com (https://www.cibc.com/en/about-cibc.html) **What You’ll Be Doing** CIBC Real Estate Finance Division (“REFD”) focuses exclusively on providing financing to real estate companies on both an interim/construction and term basis across Canada. Our team is comprised of experienced real estate professionals with offices located in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton Toronto, Ottawa, London, Hamilton and Montreal. We apply industry expertise to offer full-service financial solutions to real estate companies and users across Canada. The Real Estate Corporate Banking team provides real estate financing solutions to institutional clients such as REITS/REOCs, Pension Funds, and Private Equity Funds. You will manage key client relationships and coordinate the execution of secured and unsecured revolvers, property acquisition financing, commercial mortgages and construction loans . As a Director, you will join CIBC’s Real Estate Finance Division team to provide direct client coverage through client acquisition, relationship management and credit management processes, taking the lead responsibility for clients and prospects. _At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role._ _Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview._ **How You’ll Succeed** + **Business Development** – Develop proposals for clients and prospects regarding senior debt needs, coordinating activities through the sales cycle and liaising with other units of CIBC as necessary. Execution of business development initiatives through contribution to the achievement of growth targets by identifying business opportunities and developing financing solutions to meet the needs of the client. Evaluate, structure and play a role in underwriting new transactions ranging in deal sizes from $2 to $300+ million, in all real estate asset classes and deal structures (corporate, interim/construction, and long-term commercial mortgages). Pre-screen and qualify loans prior to the underwriting and closing process. Identify opportunities for clients and drive results for the REFD business and know how to effectively work with internal partners to solve client needs. + **Relationship Management** – Proactively assess our clients’ needs and propose solutions to meet those needs with the goal of broadening and deepening client ties. Work collaboratively with other product groups in Capital Markets to effectively manage and broaden CIBC’s relationship with key clients. + **Portfolio Management** – Conducting annual account reviews, responsible for the ongoing monitoring of loans, ensuring portfolio tracking data is current and internal reporting is kept up to date. Actively manage a pipeline of real estate loan opportunities, tracking progress in CRM tool (Salesforce). Structure, negotiate and document credit arrangements with clients and prospects. Negotiate all terms of credit with Credit Risk Management and appropriately assess risk in the relationship. Act as the transaction sponsor within CIBC. Ensure that all documentation is accurately captured and up to date. + **Training & Development** – Play a role in the development of junior staff as a coach and mentor. **Who You Are** + **You can demonstrate** **seven or more years of work experience in** the real estate lending, financial services, or real estate investments.
