#Nowbrewing Director of Product, Strategy & Business Operations — Global Supply Chain (GSC), Starbucks Digital

At Starbucks, our mission is to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time. Starbucks Technologists and Operators achieve this mission through technology and operational excellence delivered to our partners, customers, suppliers, stores, and global communities.
This role contributes to Starbucks success by leading the Strategy & Business Operations function for Global Supply Chain (GSC). The director will run the rhythm of the business for GSC (ELT reviews, BoD updates, annual planning), drive portfolio management and enterprise communications, and serve as the operational glue across GSC sub-units—Sourcing, Manufacturing, Food Safety & Quality, Planning, and Distribution. This lean team reports to the VP of Product & Biz Ops and partners closely with the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) to align priorities, accelerate decision-making, deliver change, and improve business performance. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, pragmatic problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is skilled at storytelling, cross-functional influence, and disciplined execution.

As a director of Product, Strategy & Business Operations — Global Supply Chain , you will…

Lead the Rhythm of the Business (RoB) & Enterprise Connectivity
•    Own GSC’s RoB: ELT updates, Board of Directors materials, quarterly business reviews, annual/long-range planning, and enterprise initiative tracking.
•    Coordinate inputs across Sourcing, Manufacturing, FSQ, Planning, and Distribution; ensure one cohesive narrative with clear decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes.
•    Prepare executive-ready visioning documents, strategy briefs, and business cases; tell the story with clarity, data, and implications.
Strategy, Portfolio & Operating Model
•    Facilitate GSC strategy development (strategic planning process, OKRs, multi-year roadmaps, investment theses); translate strategy into prioritized portfolios.
•    Establish and run portfolio governance: intake, prioritization, dependency/risk management, and benefits realization; ensure alignment to enterprise goals.
•    Provide key inputs to short- and long-term operating plans; partner with Finance on budgets, investment scenarios, and ROI tracking.
Change Leadership, Business Readiness & Communications
•    Lead program deployment, including business readiness, change management, partner training, and communications.
•    Educate client groups and teams on policy/process changes; ensure adoption plans are clear and measurable.
•    Serve as business and program advocate: articulate benefits, define deliverables/timelines, and secure needed support from functional leaders.
Cross-Functional “Glue” & Issue Resolution
•    Operate as the single point of contact for business unit–wide initiatives; direct program plan development and manage resource allocation across GSC and partner teams.
•    Identify risks and issues impacting implementation; drive resolution paths and escalation routines; maintain accountability on scope, schedule, and budget.
•    Integrate smoothly with existing PMO/project management in functional areas; clarify roles and responsibilities to eliminate duplication and gaps.
Business Operations, Budget & Team Leadership
•    Develop and manage budgets, work plans, and staffing plans (as applicable); run team recognition and retention initiatives that support program goals.
•    Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing, lean BizOps team; create a culture of ownership, curiosity, and bias for action.
•    Drive continuous improvement in processes, operating mechanisms, and metrics to increase speed, transparency, and accountability.
Decision Support & Market Insight
•    Drive, influence, and inform key business decisions by synthesizing industry trends, risk factors, and competitive developments that impact Starbucks’ supply chain.
•    Provide clear insight-to-action storytelling—link metrics to outcomes and decisions; maintain dashboards and mechanisms that track progress vs. OKRs.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge
•    Multidisciplinary Business Acumen: Ability to apply knowledge of strategy, finance, operations, technology, and organizational design to drive outcomes in cross-functional initiatives.
•    Program & Portfolio Leadership: Proven success leading enterprise portfolios; strong governance, dependency and risk management, benefits realization, and stakeholder alignment.
•    Change Management & Communications: Demonstrated ability to prepare, communicate, and educate diverse audiences on policy/practice changes; compelling storytelling at the executive level.
•    Operational Excellence: Track record of delivering programs on time, within scope and budget; establishes clear ownership, operating mechanisms, and performance routines.
•    Influence in Matrixed Environments: Builds trusted partnerships across Sourcing, Manufacturing, Food Safety & Quality, Planning, Distribution, Finance, Legal, Technology, and regional teams.
•    Analytical & Strategic: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; comfortable with scenario planning, trade-off analysis, and KPI design (e.g., service, cost, quality, risk).
•    Leadership & Team Building: Experience hiring, developing, and coaching talent; creates an inclusive environment that retains and recognizes high performers.
•    Mindset: Customer-focused, practical, and creative problem-solver; thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous contexts with a consistent bias for execution.

We’d love to hear from people with:

•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s/MBA preferred.
•    10+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, PMO/portfolio leadership, or management consulting, preferably in Retail/QSR/CPG or complex global supply chains.
•    5+ years leading teams with responsibility for cross-functional program delivery, executive communications, and change management.
•    Demonstrated success operating as a single-threaded leader for enterprise-scale initiatives and partnering with senior executives, including CSCO/ELT stakeholders.
