Director, Platform & Architecture (Remote)
**Director, Platform & Architecture** IQVIA Digital is hiring a Director, Platform & Architecture to lead the engineering and architectural evolution of MediaOS, one of IQVIA Digital’s most critical and revenue-generating platforms. This role owns the core platform, shared services, and architectural foundations that power MediaOS products and integrations. Reporting directly to the Head of MediaOS Engineering, this is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced software engineering leader who has grown through delivery, architecture, and people leadership. The Director will lead multiple engineering managers, senior engineers, and platform architects while remaining actively engaged in architectural design and technical decision-making. This role is accountable for platform reliability, scalability, and long-term technical health, while ensuring delivery remains aligned to product and business priorities. **Key Responsibilities** + Lead the Platform & Architecture organization for MediaOS, managing multiple Engineering Managers, senior engineers, and platform architects across employees and contractors. + Own the technical vision, architecture, and execution strategy for the MediaOS core platform, shared services, and cross-cutting capabilities. + Establish and communicate platform and architectural strategy aligned to IQVIA Digital’s business objectives, product roadmap, and long-term scalability needs. + Ensure consistent design, development, deployment, and maintenance standards across all core platform services and systems. + Remain approximately 10% hands-on, partnering with architects and senior engineers on: + Platform design and reviews + Key architectural decisions + Complex technical problem solving + Oversee staffing, performance, and development across global teams, including both employees and contractors, ensuring alignment to delivery and architectural goals. + Build and develop a strong bench of engineering managers and architects, providing coaching, mentorship, and career guidance. Provides coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports; builds and directs talent-building and development objectives for the organization. + Partner closely with Product, Architecture, and other Digital leaders to ensure engineering execution and platform direction are tightly aligned. + Influence and negotiate technical and delivery decisions with senior leadership and cross-functional partners across IQVIA Digital. **Qualifications** Required + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. + Twelve (12)+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in building and operating large-scale platforms. + Eight (8)+ years of progressive engineering management experience, including managing managers and senior technical leaders. + Proven experience leading platform, and/or shared-services engineering organizations. + Strong background in application architecture, API design, distributed systems, and enterprise platform engineering. + Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical depth with senior-level leadership and delegation. + Experience leading global, distributed engineering teams across onshore and offshore locations. + Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and align cross-functional stakeholders. Experience partnering closely with product and enterprise architecture organizations. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
