Your new role
As the Director of Pipeline Commercial Strategy, you will:
Market planning & insights: Conduct primary and secondary market research to gain deep understanding of the therapeutic area, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needs; Synthesize data into actionable insights, relevant business questions, and key strategic choices; Anticipate how the market and commercial needs evolve into the future Commercial input into development plans: Define target product profile(s) based on deep understanding of customers and their unmet needs; Represent the voice of commercial into the design of clinical development plans and enable stage- gate and key milestone decisions; Represent Japan commercial in relevant global governance forums Commercial planning and development: Provide input into global commercial strategy including positioning, value proposition and differentiation, brand narrative, and launch strategy; Develop asset commercialization strategy in Japan including localized strategy, early go-to-market plans, and forecasting; Start the development of brand in Japan in close collaboration with global marketing Cross-functional team leadership & Transition into launch planning: Establish and lead cross-functional team(s) in Japan to guide planning and development efforts while ensuring the unified position and voice of Japan through robust discussions, input, and alignment; Prepare the asset(s) for transition into the launch phase; Ensure continuity of relevant workstreams and tactics to prepare for successful launch; Transfer knowledge and relationships as appropriate

Your skills & qualifications
We’re looking for a new Director, Pipeline Commercial Strategy who will enjoy working in a high-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll bring with you:
Over 10 years of progressive marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on upstream commercial roles such as new product planning and pipeline strategy. Prior experience with upstream commercial roles such as new product planning, commercial development, and pipeline strategy; Possesses proven skills relevant to upstream marketing (e.g. strategy development frameworks, market analysis, commercial assessment, financial evaluation, etc.) Strong understanding of the drug development process and ability to interpret clinical data for effective commercial input. Comprehensive commercial experience, including assignments in global and/or ex-Japan settings, with a track record of successfully launching pharmaceutical brands. Fluency in both Japanese and English is highly required and the education qualifications would include Bachelor's degree in science or business, with a preference for advanced degrees
