Director, Operations (warehouse)
Insight Global
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader to transform our warehouse operations and build a strong foundation for long-term success. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, improving communication, and creating scalable processes across our warehousing function.
Key Responsibilities
• Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations with a strong presence on the floor (approximately 70% of time), ensuring productivity, quality, and output targets are met.
• Process Improvement: Assess current workflows, identify gaps, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and reduce manual processes. Address underutilized systems and improve visibility across operations.
• Team Development: Lead and grow a team of ~50 employees, transitioning from a temp-heavy workforce. Mentor a young team, enforce accountability, and build a culture of performance and reliability.
• Technology & Systems: Leverage ERP experience (Epicor 21 preferred) to maximize system capabilities and streamline operations.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute 30-60-90 day plans with clear milestones and deadlines. Create processes and frameworks to support future growth.
• Change Management: Drive cultural change from a temporary workforce mindset to a long-term, engaged team environment. Implement policies and ensure consistent enforcement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to align warehouse operations with broader business objectives.
What We’re Looking For
• Proven ability to build warehouse operations from the ground up.
• A battle-tested leader who can make tough decisions and connect with employees at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills with curiosity to challenge the status quo and identify root causes.
• Experience in both enterprise environments and smaller organizations.
• Ability to lead through change, enforce accountability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• ERP experience (Epicor 21 or similar) and familiarity with warehouse systems.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to deliver results under tight timelines.
