Job Description
The Director of Neuroscience Commercial Strategy - Corporate Business Strategy Office (CBSO) will help drive commercial & market innovation strategy and business operations projects across the Neuroscience business, that includes Psychiatry, Migraine, Parkinson’s Disease, and BOTOX Therapeutics. Specific activities will include:
Strategic and Operational Excellence
Lead key commercial on-market strategic initiatives that lay the strategic foundation to maximize patient impact of in-line brandsWorking with brand teams to lead the development of launch strategy for launch-ready productsLead key strategic initiatives across Neuroscience that identifies longer-term growth (e.g., Strategy long-range planning, BD assessment, Roadmap and Brand planning)Executing opportunities to drive operational effectiveness within and across business units with key cross-functional partners, e.g., Finance and HRLead development of business and operational reviews to senior Commercial and Executive leadershipThis position will foster positive working relationships and be highly collaborative with each franchise brand teams, Finance, Medical, R&D, Market Access, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Market Analytics and Business Insights (MABI), Sales Training, Sales Force Effectiveness, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and other cross franchise teams to gain input into developing strategic and operational projects. The Director must demonstrate the ability to:
Identify/scope key strategic initiativesLead project execution end to endInfluence without authority, while building a collaborative and integrated approach across the organizationQualifications
Education and Experience:
BA/BS required, MBA or advanced degree (PhD, MD) preferredMinimum years of experience - 8+ with Bachelors, 6+ with Masters and 4+ with PhD/DoctorateAt least 5-7 years of professional industry experience with a successful track record in management consulting (at least 2+ years), pipeline management, or pharmaceutical marketing with strong analytical and strategic marketing skillsPrevious experience in pharma R&D, Corporate Strategy, Brand Management, and/or MarketingDeep understanding and experience with Neuroscience and Eye Care products both inline and in developmentDemonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills across a variety of organization levels and disciplines, including senior executivesEssential Skills and Competencies:
Strong analytical and strategic marketing skills as well as demonstrated ability to learn new disease statesStrong ability to communicate ideas & make the complex easy for others to understandGood financial acumen with an understanding of P&L driversSelf-starter, and proactively driving projects toward successful completionExperience with matrix-based teams and project managementWorks collaboratively and proactively, maintains high degree of planning, coordination & project management skills, demonstrated ability to problem solve & resolve conflict with diplomacyBuilds strong relationships with peers and cross functional partners outside of immediate teamExhibits strong emotional intelligence, diplomacy, maintenance of confidentiality, maturity, and organizational savvySelf-starter, learns fast, quickly grasps the essence of concepts, can change course rapidly where required, demonstrates intellectual curiosityExecutes highly effective working team meetings with internal and external partners and is visibly inclusive and transparentExcellent command of MS PowerPoint and MS ExcelExperience working with pre-launch, launch, &/or on-market commercial teams, preferredThis position is a hybrid opportunity requiring at minimum three (3) days onsite in the respective AbbVie office location.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of thisposting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location,and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
