A Day in the Life:

As the AV Business Director in our Mobility Business Unit, you’ll be the driving force behind how we launch, scale, and manage autonomous vehicle (AV) partnerships. You’ll lead high-impact initiatives that blend business development, operational execution, and strategic thinking. From negotiating deals to building scalable systems, you’ll help shape the future of AV deployment at Hertz. The starting salary for this role is expected to be around $95,000; commensurate with experience. 

What You’ll Do:

Lead the Business of AV:
Own the end-to-end strategy for AV partnerships—from identifying opportunities and structuring deals to launching programs and optimizing performance. Build What Doesn’t Exist (Yet):
Design and implement operational frameworks that support AV deployment at scale. You’ll create the playbooks others will follow. Drive Growth Through Partnerships:
Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with AV tech companies, OEMs, and fleet operators. You’ll be the face of Hertz in the AV ecosystem. Make the Numbers Work:
Develop business cases, pricing models, and performance metrics that ensure every AV program is financially sound and scalable. Collaborate to Execute:
Work cross-functionally with legal, finance, product, and operations to bring AV initiatives to life—on time and on budget. Think Like a Founder:
You’ll move fast, test ideas, learn from failure, and scale what works. You’re not just managing a program—you’re building a business.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience That Counts:
5+ years in business development, operations, or strategic partnerships—ideally in mobility, automotive, logistics, or tech. Education That Empowers:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA or startup experience is a plus. Deal-Making Confidence:
You’ve led negotiations, structured partnerships, and closed deals that delivered measurable value. Operational Execution:
You’ve launched or scaled programs from scratch and know how to turn strategy into systems that work. Financial Acumen:
You’ve built P&Ls, pricing models, and forecasts—and used them to guide decisions. Cross-Functional Leadership:
You’ve worked across teams and know how to align stakeholders around a shared vision. Entrepreneurial Energy:
You’re a builder at heart. You thrive in ambiguity, move with urgency, and bring others along with you. Clear, Confident Communication:
You can pitch a vision, present a deal, and rally a team. You make complex ideas simple and actionable.
