Director, Mobile Health Operations

Job Summary:


The Director of Mobile Health Operations plays a key role in planning, development, execution and ongoing management of mobile health operations, strategy and growth objectives in the market. The Director reports directly to the AVP of Ambulatory Business Operations. The Director leverages strong business operations management, communication and project execution skills to align diverse stakeholders and is accountable for the comprehensive planning, resource management and oversight of the mobile health program.


Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Operations Management: Leads the Mobile Health Program operations, market strategy, growth and implementation of strategic market goals. Own the mobile health operations from beginning to end.
a. Coordinates and facilitate the interactions between the Mobile Unit Program and its various stakeholders within and outside of Wellstar Health System
b. Identification of applicable/appropriate sites for taking the unit including health care and non-healthcare locations and health events/fairs.
c. Set-up address for provider enrollment, Medicare enrollment and managed care billing agreements
d. Manage and negotiate all contracts with vendors for the Mobile Health Program
e. Coordinate repairs/replacement for deployed telemedicine equipment with Biomed or Facilities as appropriate for all mobile health sites
f. Managing the clinic schedule (i.e. resources, location, time/date), including EPIC template management, patient scheduling and staff training. Services as a liaison to IT regarding EPIC processes, workflows and issue resolution.
g. Prepares FY budgets, including expenses, FTEs and revenue and monitors budget performance and project fiscal impact of growth.
h. Creates marketing and promotional materials for launch and routine promotions


Collaboration: Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the facility and Wellstar to include: the Business Office, inclusive of the WHS Legal and Compliance, Safety/Quality, WHS Central Call Center, Accounting, Specialty/Ancillary Services and Information System.
a. Notifying and coordinating with the managed care team regarding adding services to the managed care agreements
b. Submits IT requests for Epic setup and build needs, inclusive of department, schedule/template, visit types, and notes
c. Initiates the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) project request to ensure all appropriate/applicable departments and teams are engaged for setup and go-live
d. Consults with the Compliance, Regulatory and Legal team to review the scope of the mobile unit, discuss factors considered for process development, clinic management and oversight, billing and contracting.


Growth and Development
a. Recruitment and hiring for applicable roles on the Mobile Health team to meet future needs of the community
b. Orientation of new mobile unit staff, including orientation to modality of care (i.e. CT, Mammo) or clinic processes as needed
c. Annual mobile unit hiring, onboarding, development, staff evaluations, including corrective and/or disciplinary action


Regulatory Compliance: Oversees maintenance of updated Mobile Program Policies, procedures and SOPs. Leads the programs efforts to maintain compliance with regulations and accreditation standards, as applicable.
a. Obtains MOU contracts for parking the mobile unit(s)
b. Oversee the development and implementation of applicable policies, processes and scope of services for the mobile unit
c. Obtain applicable certifications required prior to go-live
d. Responsible for recertification as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.


Required Minimum Education:

Bachelors Degree required.

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 5 years experience in the healthcare setting is required.Minimum 7 years experience in healthcare operations field is strongly preferred.Strong preference is given to those with a background in strategic programming, as well as the development and implementation of cross-departmental healthcare initiatives.Experience in contract negotiation, community engagement, and public speaking is also strongly desired.
Required Minimum Skills:Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and gain their cooperations.Demonstrated computer skills including, but not limited to, Power Point, Excel, and Word.Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and in situations requirement instructing, persuading, negotiating, conflict resolution, consulting and advising.Demonstrated experience developing effective written communications, reports and summaries.Ability or plan, organize, motivate, mentor, direct and evaluate the work of others.Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulations related to health care.Knowledge of principles and business and management strategic planning, leadership development and education techniques.
