Main responsibilities:

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Marketing Science to lead our client facing Marketing Science function within our fast-growing Retail Media Network. This role will be pivotal in shaping audience and measurement strategies for our CPG advertisers, ranging from emerging brands to global enterprises within a set of categories. You will oversee a team of Marketing Science Partners and analysts, drive thought leadership in marketing effectiveness via learning agendas, bespoke measurement and advanced audience solutions. 

 In this role, you'll also work cross-functionally across other Marketing Science teams to inform measurement product roadmap and help define new metrics and KPIs. You'll guide and mentor team members and cross functional partners responsible for translating complex problems into actionable steps and championing the value of measurement across the organization. You’ll bridge organizational knowledge gaps by fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment. You'll also develop and implement reporting solutions and strategies aligned with broader objectives, ultimately driving successful decision-making and growth for both Albertsons Media Collective and its clients. This is a highly consultative role that requires hands-on experience with media measurement methodologies like MMM, MTA, Incrementality etc. 

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and mentor a team of ~10 marketing science professionals across audience strategy, measurement, and analytics. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Partner cross-functionally with sales, product, engineering, and client success teams.

Advertiser Strategy & Support

Develop and scale audience segmentation and targeting strategies for CPG advertisers of all sizes. Design and implement measurement frameworks that demonstrate campaign effectiveness and ROI. Serve as a strategic advisor to advertisers, helping them optimize media investments using data-driven insights.

Product Influence & Innovation

Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and evolve the measurement product roadmap. Identify gaps and opportunities in current measurement capabilities and propose scalable solutions. Advocate for advanced methodologies including incrementality testing, media mix modeling, and predictive analytics.

Analytics & Insights

Ensure the delivery of high-quality insights and reporting across all advertiser engagements. Standardize measurement approaches and develop best practices for campaign evaluation. Stay ahead of industry trends in retail media, ad tech, and marketing analytics.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

10+ years of experience in marketing analytics, data science, or marketing science, preferably in retail media, ad tech, or CPG. Proven leadership experience managing high-performing analytics teams. Deep expertise in media measurement, attribution, and audience strategy. Strong understanding of retail media platforms, shopper data, and omnichannel marketing. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytics into actionable business insights. Experience influencing product development and working with cross-functional stakeholders. Familiarity with tools like SQL, Python, R, Looker, Tableau, or similar. Experience with experimentation frameworks and causal inference methods. Knowledge of retail data ecosystems and loyalty programs.

The position will be based in Boise, ID, or Pleasanton, CA and is an in-office position.

The salary range is $135,800 to $190,100 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include, medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay/Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually) bereavement pay and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.
