8-4:30 M-FThe Director of Logistics is a transformational leadership role responsible for advancing HNL Lab Medicine’s logistical operations to the next level. This position oversees a team of employees, ensuring they are professional, customer-focused, and highly engaged in delivering exceptional service. The Director will build upon existing infrastructure—including courier services, fleet safety, mailroom operations, and ID technology—to drive innovation, expand capabilities, and position the department for future growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Defines and executes a long-term vision for logistics that supports organizational growth and operational excellence.Leads strategic initiatives to modernize infrastructure, expand service capabilities, and integrate emerging technologies.Collaborates with executive leadership to align logistics strategy with clinical and business objectives.Leads and develops a high-performing team of 140 logistics professionals across multiple operational domains.Promotes a culture of professionalism, accountability, and customer service.Builds leadership capacity within the team to support succession planning and continuous improvement.Oversees the Corporate Fleet Safety and Management Program, ensuring compliance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.Directs courier operations to ensure timely, secure, and compliant transport of clinical specimens.Leverages routing software and performance data to optimize delivery schedules and fleet utilization.Provides strategic oversight of the Security Access Control Program and Employee ID Program.Leads the team responsible for managing the CCure System and access database.Ensures seamless coordination with LVHN Security and integration with time and attendance systems.Continuously evaluates and refines workflows to improve efficiency, reliability, and service quality.Stays ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.Champions continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and process optimization.Develops and manages departmental budgets aligned with strategic priorities.Monitors and reports on key performance indicators related to fleet, courier, and operational efficiency.Provides cost analysis and logistical modeling to support new business opportunities.QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in logistics or fleet operations, preferably in healthcare or laboratory environments.
Language Ability:
Must demonstrate the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Math Ability:
Must possess and show excellent math skills.
Reasoning Ability:
Must possess and demonstrate the ability to assess priorities and be capable of supervising others in a stressful and changing environment. Must possess and demonstrate customer service skills and constant focus and attention to providing quality service.
Computer Skills:
Work processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail, Database software.
Previous experience with computerized routing software required.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred certification in fleet safety or logistics (e.g., DOT, APICS, Six Sigma). Experience with cold chain logistics and hazardous material transport.
