The Labor Relations Campaign Director serves as a principal leader for union avoidance and organizing campaigns across the Tenet enterprise. Reporting to the Vice President of Labor Relations, the candidate will work closely with senior human resources and operations leadership in all Tenet markets.

Key Responsibilities of the Role
Assists VP in developing and executing union awareness and avoidance strategy and initiatives at field facilitiesAdvise and counsel hospitals, markets, and corporate office on all matters relating to labor and employee relations issues and union organizing activity, including coaching and counseling to field leaders to improve employee relationsWorks with VP to strategize and respond to galvanizing employee issues across the enterprise as part of developing and driving positive employee relations strategiesTakes an active and involved role in leadership development for hospitals and markets, with a focus on improving overall people skills and emotional intelligence of leadership teamsAdvise and manage the response to union organizing, including both NLRB campaigns and pre-petition drivesDraft and execute in depth training for market and facility management on labor and employee relations issuesBuilds credibility with and maintains good morale among employees, gains the trust of both leadership and employeesDevelops and oversees action plans at hospitals to improve employee relations and employee moraleProvides education and intelligence on relevant union activity in markets that we operate inDevelops communications to support union avoidance initiatives and election campaignsUp to 75% travel (we will run an MVR on the final candidate)

Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred7-10 years of related experience at a company with union represented employees, preferably in acute healthcareExperience managing outside counsel and consultantsExperience managing grievance arbitration processExperience with union campaignsExperience with union negotiationsExtensive experience with and knowledge of labor and employment laws and labor relationsPossess research, analytical, organization, and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)Ability to work independently as well as having strong interpersonal, organization, written and communication skillsTenet Healthcare complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
