General Function:
As the Director, IT Solutions Management, you will lead a team of business and technical analysts responsible for the execution, stability, and continuous improvement of Hy-Vee’s core systems and business processes. This team performs Tier 2 support, system configuration, technical research, business process monitoring, IDoc and integration monitoring, documentation, and testing in SAP S/4HANA and adjacent platforms. Your role is to ensure the team delivers reliable operations, consistent execution, and well‑designed solutions that enable the business to run efficiently and make informed decisions.
You will attract, retain, and develop high-performing analysts with strong technical depth, business acumen, and problem‑solving capabilities. You will align the team’s work with enterprise strategies and quarterly plans while fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
+ Contributes to forming and communicating the vision, operating model, and execution strategy for the analyst role on Solutions Management team.
+ Drive a strategic mindset that anticipates business needs, seeks out opportunities, and drives high-value outcomes.
+ Champion a future state where processes are monitored, issues are proactively identified, and the organization benefits from reliable, scalable technology.
+ Ensure analyst priorities reinforce operational excellence across SAP S/4HANA and all integrated systems.
Operational Excellence & Technical Execution
+ Oversee Tier 2 support operations, ensuring timely resolution and strong cross-team coordination.
+ Ensure high-quality system configuration, data validation, SAP IDOC monitoring, and business process monitoring.
+ Establish standards for documentation, SOP creation, and adherence to governance controls.
+ Lead governance for the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to ensure safe and reliable deployments.
Business Process Design & Implementation
+ Ensure analysts play an active role in future-state business process design by contributing technical insights, system behavior knowledge, and downstream impact analysis.
+ Oversee analyst participation in design workshops, mapping current vs. future state processes, and documenting requirements.
+ Guide the team in translating business needs into executable technical designs and ensuring solutions are fully validated before implementation.
Solutioning, Research & Continuous Improvement
+ Guide analysts in researching system behavior, troubleshooting, and evaluating enhancements.
+ Support requirements gathering and translation into technical specifications.
+ Promote a culture of curiosity, critical thinking, and ownership where solutioning is recognized as a skill and talent, not just a task.
Team Leadership & Development
+ Support the team with an environment where employees are informed, connected, and empowered through intentional feedback loops.
+ Coach and develop analysts into subject-matter experts and trusted advisors.
+ Align assignments with strengths and growth paths.
+ Build a collaborative, accountable team culture.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
+ Serve as a trusted partner to business leaders and IT teams.
+ Implement governance for change control, testing, and requirements management.
+ Ensure analyst outcomes support operations and project outcomes.
Quality, Testing & Release Oversight
+ Own functional and regression testing strategy.
+ Ensure analysts prepare, execute, and document testing with rigor.
+ Validate that system changes provide stability and improve user experience.
ERP & Platform Leadership
+ Provide leadership and maintain a high focus on expanding capabilities, employee opportunities, and operational efficiencies on the SAP S/4HANA platform and across additional systems and platforms that support both Hy-Vee’s customers and workforce.
+ Optimize processes, configuration, and monitoring practices.
+ Expand team capabilities across SAP, Ariba, CAR, LCP, Middleware, GK, Workday and other systems.
Education and Experience:
+ B.A. in Information Technology or related field preferred
+ 7-10 years of leadership experience in Information Technology
+ Business acumen in the retail business sector, grocery preferred
+ Demonstrated experience with:
+ Current development methodologies and design patterns
+ Delivering applications in a cloud platform
+ Implementing ERP solutions
+ Experience executing/configuring necessary changes on SAP S/4 HANA
+ Experience influencing management on technical or business solutions
+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Physical Requirements:
+ Visual requirements include the ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
+ Must be able to perform sedentary work, including operating a computer, and occasionally lifting or carrying objects up to 10 pounds.
+ May occasionally perform physical activities such as standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a general office or remote office environment. Position requires meeting weekly deadlines, balancing changing priorities, and managing multiple tasks daily.
