Job Description

The International Market Access & Pricing (iMAP) Team leads the market access strategies and planning for pipeline as well as on market products.

The Neuroscience space is particularly unique relative to other therapeutic areas as there is a large price disparity for treatments between the US and OUS markets and the evidence requirement to activate each region can be quite different. 

This role will leverage your clinical understanding, expertise of Evidence Based Medicine, alongside deep global payer knowledge, and competitive insights to innovate Phase II/III clinical development programs for pre-launch compounds.  This role will also require complex problem solving and decision quality to navigate the unique challenges within Neuroscience.  The role will also call on you to be a commercial leader as the infrastructure in the disease areas of focus are in early stages of development from an international perspective at Abbvie.

The iMAP director reports to the VP iMAP, Neuroscience and is accountable for the following:

Defining the International Integrated Access Strategy (IAS) for the Neuroscience Toxin portfolio focused on AGN-607 (next generation toxin), Botox in line business and future toxins building Pricing, Reimbursement and Access (PRA) consistent with the commercial strategyDefine a path to optimize the entry on the next generation toxins into an OUS  space where toxins can be commoditizedCreate IAS for indications such as essential tremor, MDD and HTPFDEstablish access pathways in Asian markets like Japan and China where no existing toxin presence existsSupport in line efforts on Botox across all of its indications and identify opportunities to further optimize P&RCo-creates clinical development plans factoring in all elements of a PICOS framework that will satisfy OUS HTA evidence requirements and build global value (US and OUS)  Develop/maintain the Payer Value Story (consistent with the Brand Story) for all assets/indications in assigned portfolioLeading team of direct reports to develop compelling core Payer materials based on deep payer insightsAssessing/challenging key market access assumptions as part of the Financial Planning Process (LRP/Plan)Collaboratively works with R&D, Area and Affiliates to customize approaches

Key Responsibilities Include:

The ideal candidate will be able to input into global clinical development plans to identify appropriate comparators, endpoints and study designs that will support OUS HTA evidentiary requirements OR co-build/co-create adjacent/complementary evidence programs that meet such requirements whilst minimizing any risk to the USDrive business development input for international PRA assumptions for all assets that are pre-launchGenerate early international payer value propositions for new products that are aligned with the product’s total emerging value proposition (physicians, payers, and patients) and the product’s target product profile (TPP).At appropriate, ensure International, Area and Affiliate implementation of the Abbvie launch readiness to achieve PRA. Focus will be on all markets including both International (EU5, CA, CH, JP)  Collaborate with GHEOR, Clinical Development team, policy, International Marketing & Commercial Organization (IMCO), Pipeline Commercialization Strategy (PCS), US market access pipeline, area market access and other functions, to ensure solid understanding of international payer markets and emerging stakeholders in the reimbursement area.Maintaining therapeutic area specific department budgetary activities
Qualifications

Basic:

10- 15 years of experience in Pricing and Market Access, ideally at a global, area of or 5LBU country levelEducation: MSc/PhD required, with MBA preferred

Preferred:

Strong clinical and disease area knowledgeExperience in developing and managing market access strategies globallyExperience in payer trends, evaluating drivers of market access successKnowledge of pricing policy & regulations and healthcare in key marketsUnderstanding of regulatory agency requirements or policies that govern market approval, and the impact on reimbursement decisionsExperience in health economic modelingEducation: degree in a scientific area required. Additional MBA preferred
